Scammers using legitimate UPS tracking numbers to cover non delivery of an item you can't dispute.
The mail fraud continues and eBay sides with the fraudsters against their loyal customers.

I fell victim to eBay mail fraud by 5 sellers in ONE day, and have suffered severe stress and emotional damage from having to deal with protecting my rights.
I bought quantity: 9 items from 5 different sellers. And guess what? ALL of them used stolen tracking numbers. They were items that were on sale on Walmart and they tried to resell on eBay. When the item was sold out on Walmart, I came to eBay. When they tried to deliver, it was sold out on eBay so they messaged me with similar language that it was out of stock, lost, damaged, etc. Completely transparently: all accounts are operated by the same seller, as they used identical language.
Shocker: all 5 fraudsters had tracking numbers from all over the USA claiming different size, width item was delivered to my "area". When I obviously did not get the items, I ended up getting written confirmation by UPS that it was not delivered to me to fight my refund case. This is the very short version of the story.
Guess what? eBay sided with the fraud. Then I appealed. eBay STILL sided with one fraudster, and now I'm forced to work via PayPal.
I have filed a case with ic3.gov. If I don't hear back tomorrow, I will file with my local police department as well.
It is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE to eBay to put loyal customers through such hardship, and not taking action against fraud. If you are a hard working moderator at eBay, it's time to get your boss' boss involved, because I won't let the amount of hardship and stress I've suffered go without resolution.

Why did you post about a bidding complaint on an old topic about a tracking number scam?
FYI. Bid sniping has been around since 1995 when ebay started, and they approve of the tactic. If you think of ebay's auctions as a fixed end time Vicary sealed bid auctions like you might encounter at a charity event, as opposed to an English outcry time extended auction, then you would understand why they allow it. Every bidder on an ebay auction has a chance to enter their highest bid at any time during the auctions duration. Read the info in the link below, and click the Tips for winning auctions button in that article you will find information on bid sniping.
What's really disgraceful is the language you used in your reply. Would you do that on your home site (ebay.co.uk) or did you feel it was OK to do on the U.S. based site?
