Scammer alert
I purchased some pokemon product on accident that is clearly a scam. I immediately requested a refund however it has been more than 3 days and the seller has not responded. I also reported the seller and the product but eBay claims there is nothing wrong with the listing. How can I get eBay to step in to ensure I get my money back? To make this more clear they were trying to sell 3 elite trainer boxes for $60 when one box is valued at over $100

While you are waiting to get the items you should read the terms of ebay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG) so you know when and how to take actions to return the items for a refund. Open the link below.

Ignoring indications of there being a scam because you feel protected by the MBG is not a good idea. Scammers check out the terms of buyer protections on any site they sell on and try to find ways of getting around them. Unfortunately, they often succeed because the buyers do not read the terms of the protections.

How does one order something "by accident?" There are several steps before the order goes through and during those steps, the buyer is confirming info before proceeding to the next step.
When you paid for the item, the order shows an estimated delivery date. If that date comes and goes and you didn't receive your item, go back to the order the next date after the EDD and in the dropdown, there'll be an option to check that you didn't receive the item.
Click and submit. The seller will have 3 days to respond and show tracking. If there's no tracking or if there's no response, you can go back to the case on day 4 and ask ebay to step in.
If you receive something but it's not what you ordered or different from what was described or pictures, you open a claim for "not as described."

·5 months agoFirst - if you made the purchase, and did NOT fully read the listing first, that is on you.
Second, the seller has the option to cancel the sale or not of THEIR prerogative. If they don’t, then you arrive to:
Third, wait until the item arrives, and if it is NOT what you ordered, make a return with the reason given “ item is NOT as described.”
at this point, this is your best option, to wait and see if this really IS a scam or not. You have the option of getting your money back, with hopefully a lesson learned.

OP5 months agoThis does help thank you! I should have known before making the purchase “if it’s too good to be true” but i decided to try it anyway. After placing the order I had some sort of clarity that this is clearly a scam. I will continue to wait and see what happens hopefully all said and done I will get my money back and learn a lesson.

HOW did you ‘request a refund’? Did you ‘request a cancellation’ OR do something else?
