eBay won't help because it says the item was delivered. Well, it wasn't delivered to me, and I seem powerless to get anyone to review the documents I have proving the merchandise did not come to me, and messages from the seller telling me he accidentally provided the wrong tracking number and asking me to please not open a case. That was January 4th. He now refuses to communicate and confirmed to eBay that I received the item. It apparently is a known scam, providing fake tracking numbers that say they were delivered. I had never heard of it before and never got scammed on here in the many years I've purchased things from here. So disgusting and disappointing. I'm hoping eventually this creep will be thrown off eBay, but it doesn't seem eBay cares he's ripping off their members.

If you filed an Item Not Received dispute through ebay and lost it, that is why you could not leave a negative feedback. If your evidence is in the form of an email ebay will not accept it, because emails can be faked. You do have evidence of the scam:
"... messages from the seller telling me he accidentally provided the wrong tracking number and asking me to please not open a case".
You can try contacting ebay through one of their social media platforms and let them know what has happened, using one of the links below, if you have not opened a dispute with your bank or card provider.
You will need the seller's username and the ebay item number, write out about the item being delivered to a different address in your zip code then add the info about the seller admitting they shipped to the wrong address in your ebay messages, and asking yo not to open a dispute. If you didn't delete it tell them the date you received the message. If you did delete it the rep who handles your case may still be able to access it. When you've done those things sign the message with your real and ebay username. You should hear back from them within a day.

·8 months agoSeeing as the account only has ebay generated feedback given, that alone seems sketchy!
Anyways, ebay cant do much if tracking does show delivered. Your best bet is to file a claim with your bank in hopes they can reimburse.

·8 months agoThe question is what "delivered" means. I have a case which is the same tracking number scam. ebay Refused buyer protection soley to the fact that the Tracking showed delivered and my city - no adress confirmation. That doesn't seem legit and opens a huge door for scams like this.

If not, then why is this any different?
