Scammed
Hi, I bought some Mac Studio,
then got scammed out of a fake posting,
I lost the money, how do I get it back?
I accidentally handled the dispute wrong on PayPal.
The eBay options tells me I did dispute, no help from us now.
I would like another chance.
Please help me.
Sincerely,
Ahmed Othmen.

·2 months agoHope you can get this resolved satisfactorily. Also hope this served as a lesson for you. When a listing sets off alarm bells when you read it, best to trust your gut. Or come here and ask for advice before you take the plunge.

No, there's no way to reset it. Your only hope now is if you funded the Paypal purchase with a credit card. If you did, contact the card issuer, ask to be connected to the fraud department, then tell them you've been the victim of the fake tracking scam. Before you do that you need to take the tracking number that shows delivery and go to the carrier. Tell them you need to know if that package was addressed to you. That information will help your case.

OP2 months agoYou're right, the credit card connection would work, thanks for the information, and bless you.

No one here works for Paypal, or eBay for that matter. We're experienced buyers and sellers who have a good knowledge of eBay policies. And @kensgiftshop is correct -- once you open a dispute elsewhere the window to dispute with eBay closes. There's no way around that.
If you funded your Paypal payment with a credit card you can dispute the charge there. If this is a case where the seller gave a fake tracking number you should do that dispute through the card issuer's fraud department, as this is a common scam. If you'll come back and explain exactly what happened we may be able to give more precise advice.

·2 months agoI'm guessing that you bought it from one of the new 0-feedback sellers of "sold" listings, all of whom use the same pictures and the items are at prices that are too good to be true.
When you canceled the dispute, you ended the claim and it can't be reopened.

·2 months agoOnce you go to Pay Pal, Ebay will no longer help and you'll have to work with Pay Pal.
You want to come back and let us know what happened.
