SCAMMED
Second time posting: where the first one went, I have no idea.
Bought an item from a seller who listed it for nearly $580 + tax. The item actually has been costing $ 90 to $ 100 each, so I was expecting 6 of these Pokémon card sets. Now the seller states he clearly stated one pack of cards.
Maybe I missed something, but really, how can anyone in good conscience charge over 6 times what the item is currently selling for! Sounds like fraud to me.
I wonder what the other four other people received that bought before me? Of course, the robotic replies have all ended with ' Best Regards' If there's not a policy for this there ought to be.
What to do?
I'm sorry, but this is exorbitant---and a scam. It shouldn't be allowed.

Just want to give you a heads up that should you lose your eBay case you won't be able to leave any feedback for the seller. And I too refuse to have an opinion on this without being able to read the listing.

I'm thinking (by now...) that it's embarrassment on the OP's part for overpaying. Too bad we can't help verify if the OP was "SCAMMED" or not. I'd think that @janaad would benefit to prepare before jumping into whatever is happening tomorrow.

·10 months agoWithout the item number, this thread is little more than an academic exercise - no one can tell you if have grounds for opening a case without seeing the listing.

As far as being able to help you with THIS problem ... we would need the Item Number so that we can read and see exactly what the listing claimed. If there's anything in it that is contradictory, it would go in your favor with regards to getting refunded.

OP10 months agoI have already reported this issue to eBay and tomorrow's the day that they will begin looking into it---which I figure will get me nowhere but I most certainly will leave negative feedback. Then we'll see if they'll leave it up.
What is contradictory is that this person charged an exorbitant amount of money for a small item. No conscience, I guess! Their robot ends every conversation with 'Best Regards.'

While you wait for tomorrow, share the item number. Someone will be able to let you know how to proceed BEFORE you leave feedback.
You have 60 days to leave feedback. Make sure you have exhausted all options, then you can leave feedback.

You were asked what the item number is for the item you bought for $580 + tax. The only way anyone can really help you is with that information otherwise it’s sounds like you’re just crying foul where there is none.

OP10 months agoThe price was a typical price for 6 items--- like all the other posts on the site.
AT first, I thought the listing was in error, but obviously the seller got exactly what he wanted. Wondering if he used the same tactic on the four other people who bought this item before me.

Wow, you cant save some people from themselves, talk about no conscience.

·10 months agoIf the seller's listing stated one (1) item for $580.00, and you received one item, that's not by definition a scam.
Had the seller listed 6 items for $580.00, and you only received one, then you'd have a case.
Sellers can list their non-essential items for as much or as little as they want to, as is true outside of ebay as well.

You said "an item". If 6 of the sets weren't listed...you weren't scammed. You did it to yourself by not making sure before you paid.
By your reasoning (if it was listed as 1 item), everything I buy and every fee I pay is a scam because it costs more than I think it should.
A seller can list the same item for $10.000 if they want. It's up to you to not buy it at that price..............
