I bid on some RAM earlier today while driving home from work. It was sat at £150, same as it was when I first saw the listing
last night. I put in a max bid of £200 which instantly pinged me as the highest bidder bang on £200. Tried to check bidding history but all I could see were 3 bids. I increased my bid to £220 which instantly pinged me as highest bidder at £220. Again, I couldn't check bid history till I got home but now there were 4 bidders suggesting I outbid myself another £20?
Checking now it appears I bid against myself twice, is this some sort of scam or bug?

·3 years agoThere was a Reserve Price of GBB 220.00. Otherwise the "current bid" would be GBP 165.00 (not GBP 200.00).
Unfortunately eBay has removed the "Reserve met" designation from the Bid History Page (which some of us fought to keep several years ago when they removed it from the Listing Page). The only way one can tell there was a Reserve now is exactly this situation: the "current bid" is more than an increment over the underbidder's maximum bid (in this case GBP 160.00, plus 1 increment would be GBP 165.00).

Perhaps the listing had a Reserve Price and your second bid hit the Reserve Price set by the seller?
