Same problem. Not accepting gift cards.

This from several years ago. I'm having exact same issues!
For the past few hours I've been trying to purchase an item with an eBay gift card I bought. Now, when I go to checkout, and type my gift card's code, the amount says it's applied (even the order total appears as $0.00), but when I click on "Confirm and pay", the site displays a message saying "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option.". I purchased a gift card because I don't use Paypal. I tried looking for solutions in other forums (most were from a couple of years ago) and many people were having the same problem as me. Some suggested to select Paypal as the payment option, log in to a Paypal account, and then type the gift card's code, but it didn't work for me. Another person suggested creating a new eBay account and using the gift card with that account, but since eBay's recent policies on security measures, I can't purchase anything because of a "buying limit" and because the account doesn't have any feedback. I have checked the card's balance and it's still intact. Has anyone else who experienced this issue found a solution (aside of these) for this problem?

It seems to be some Authorization Payment Error that results in giftcard balance being withdrawn and it voids the giftcard balance, even though the purchase never went through.
It's really stupid and this needs to be fixed.

·1 year agoThis happened to me. I purchased from a seller i have bought from for years. It was rejected. Used another and IT was rejected. Tried a BIN and also rejected. This is alarming. Hope someone solves this problem SOON.

How soon after buying the card did you try to make the purchase? Just because the payment for the card went through at the store, it doesn't mean that ebay has received the payment from the store's card processing service. Some stores payments are not sent for processing immediately, they may go in once or twice a day, and may not appear on the purchase method you used on weekends.

OP1 year agoI use up all eBay gift cards within a month to a month and a half. Actually, I have two gift cards in use and they are already partially used before the refusal to accept them.
