Revise Auto-Feedback -- Item Arrived Not Working, but Auto-Feedback Was Positive.
I ordered a 240v Electric Heater, described as used but in great condition (working).
This required an electrician to install with a 240V connection, and unfortunately it was not installed and tested until after the return window closed (30 days). Once installed, I found the unit was dead on arrival. Would not turn on, even though all testing showed the connection was correct.
After further inspection, I found an internal wire was missing, meaning the unit could not have worked, and must have been known to the seller as non-functioning.
However, as I was passed the return window, I was unable to initiate a return. I messaged the seller, without response. Since this was over the holidays, I messaged twice, and gave them several days to respond.
They have still not replied, the unit was DOA, and I have accepted that eBay will not help me with a return outside of the window.
However, worse yet, I have zero recourse to even leave negative feedback, or comment that the unit was sent knowingly DOA. As far as I can tell, Live Support is not available, and the chat assistant is useless for this.
Is there any approach to contact a live support person (even by email) to at minimum provide the feedback that the seller knowingly shipped a broken device, and kept the funds.

·9 months agoeBay’s Money Back Guarantee provides great coverage if used properly, but like most companies, they do not make exceptions for anyone. You had 30 days from the date your order was delivered, and there is no one at eBay that can change that.
You can, however, reach out to your credit card issuer or whatever other payment source you used, for assistance. They typically provide additional coverage beyond a retailers return policy.

OP9 months agoThank you, I appreciate the quick response.
I have accepted that a refund is off the table. My question was primarily about revising / updating feedback. Or at the very least deleting it.
Since eBay has moved to the automatic feedback, it submitted positive feedback before I could even test the unit. Now I am not even able to post a comment that the seller sent a broken unit, or provide any note at all.

·9 months agoIf you are still within the window where you can leave feedback, whatever feedback you leave will override the auto feedback that ebay left. (I believe you have 60 days?)
If you waited too long, then unfortunately there's no way to remove / change that.

·9 months agoeBay’s automatic feedback does not block you from leaving your own feedback. It doesn’t even show on your end as the buyer that feedback has been left. You should have 60 days from the date you received the package to leave whatever feedback you want.
If there is positive feedback there that shows that it is from you, you left it at some point. Even if that was a mistake, that can’t be changed.
