·8 months agoLook on your PURCHASES page @my_boston_baked_beans for SEE RETURN DETAILS beside your item.
If eBay thinks you still haven't mailed your return, you'll have a QR code. Scan that at the post office to get your return tracking number.

·8 months agoJust an FYI; I had a return to Macy's 5 years ago and one to a 3rd Party Seller on Amazon last year- both 'disappeared'. I even had the tracking numbers...but they NEVER showed 'received' by the carrier (one UPS, one Fedex- per the entity, so had to put in a 'drop box'.
Could've been broken into before truck picked up or?
Anyway; no point in 'giving' up on ebay- unless you simply plan on no more 'internet' buying period because it can (and has) happened at other places.

·8 months agoBeans, did you get an acceptance scan, and a receipt? In the future, you can scan at a self-service kiosk and get a receipt with your return tracking number, 24 hours a day at some post office lobbies.
Or @my_boston_baked_beans did you get an eBay message plus an email acknowledging that you had shipped your return? Otherwise it sounds like eBay has no knowledge whatsoever that your paper label is flapping its way back to your seller.

·8 months ago@my_boston_baked_beans did you write down the tracking number? What does that tracking number show on the USPS website?
my_boston_baked_beans
OP8 months agoI did not write down the number. NO information whatsoever on ebay. Clearly stated 6 days mailed January 3rd.
Since, ebay has NO records I out $53. Never again on ebay..

·8 months agoDid you use a return label provided by eBay? If so, the tracking number should be in your return case. If not it's up to you to note the tracking number and input it into the case.
Even if you mailed on the 3rd (your original post says you mailed on the 6th, so that part is a bit muddy) this is only the fifth business day. It's far too early to worry.

OP8 months agoI used ebay return label provided.
I did not write it down.
I went into the item and/or returns/cancellations NO information! No record on ebay NO refund!
Not my fault I did exactly as instructed ebay LOST THE INFORMATION.
Opened a second out of interest went through perfectly......so figure?
I give up so out $53 never again
thanks anyhow

·8 months agoBased on the fact that you were able to open a second return, it sounds like the first return somehow wasn't stored? I've never heard of that, however, I've heard of many glitches on ebay, so it's totally possible.
Since you mailed it back, I'd just contact the seller again let them know it's been shipped and ask that when they receive the item to please issue a refund. There are some shady sellers who will ignore you, but there are more honest sellers who will issue the refund.
As far as the technical glitch, if you click on the little question mark on the lower left of your seller hub, you can report a technical glitch if the return wasn't stored. I mean, if you printed out a label, there had to be a return opened to issue that label.
Don't give up, it can still be worked out.
my_boston_baked_beans
OP8 months agoThank you for your understanding as that is exactly what I was thinking, but I did not address that point correctly in my discussion.
I think it is a technical clitch..only me 🙂 I will take your advise regarding reporting it as such.
Does this qualify for *buyer protection* as I am guessing it does not without proof.
Again..thank you

·8 months agoI have a return coming from Illinois just one state away, and USPS that it will take SIX DAYS.
Granted it's a small town and the main USPS is either St Louis or Chicago, but the weather says they've only had a total of 0.08 inches of perspiration so far in 2026. This is like my ex in Wadsworth Ohio, everything has to head north first before it goes anywhere.

·8 months ago0.08 inches seems like a lot of sweat. Did you mean precipitation?
And, again, it was mailed on the 6th and today is the 9th. Given the way the USPS works any more, I don't expect anything to arrive anywhere in 3 days except possibly from me to my next door neighbor and, even then, it would have to go from my PO to the Cleveland hub and then back to my neighbor next door.

·8 months agoPardon me. From your original message: "Returned an item to the seller on January 6th."

·8 months agoDon't know where you live, and don't know where you are returning to, but from where I live in NE Ohio, nothing gets to almost anywhere within 3 days.

·8 months ago'printed label'...I assume a return label from the seller? or on your own?
'had other problems with eBay tracking'...'do not have these problems with Amazon'.
Wondering how many returns you do and if you did too many where eBay is noting a trend.
