Return suddenly close
I had tried to return item and I have date to return April 2nd, when ebay offered me mode of return payment were only two gift card or something else, but not to my CC. So I went back and now they said "Thanks for closing return". I did not close. I want to return.
Please help.

·5 months agoNo @kensgiftshop you're wrong. Actually e.B.a.y. is no longer invoLved ... simply be-cause O'P closed the return.
Since you paid with a CC @914nd just
-- go to your bank as you said
-- file a CREDIT NOT PROCESSED chargeback, and
-- attach the tracking for "seller send me another return label ... and I finish all formality"
to get your refund.
"Credit Not Processed" chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.

·5 months agoDoesn't matter if they closed the return or not, when they open a case through Pay Pal, Ebay is out.
If the Ebay case was still open then they went to Pay Pal, it would be the same way.

·5 months agoIf you used paypal you can open a return there within 30 days if you already closed the ebay return request.
The only difference is the seller is not required to pay for the return shipping.

Was really more concerned about the fact that the OP appeared to have closed the case prematurely.

·5 months agoIf I'm not mistaken, I think if the buyer selects the gift card option, it happens as soon as they ship it back. They do not have to wait on the seller to receieve it. eBay will refund them once it has been scanned.
As far as the rest of @914nd 's post, without more information, it is no telling what happened. Once that return is closed, it can't be reopened so they are out of luck. If they hit the button and closed it by the mistake, they can always ask the seller if they would do a return off-the-books so to speak.

OP5 months agoTotally Disaster! once i accidently close return (misunderstanding), Ebay told me 'that is it' and we cant help you. Compare to AMAZON or WALMART, where return label will stay always. Now I had no choice except knocking door of PAYPAL. Then after seller send me another return label via contact seller page and I finish all formality. I have proof of tracking. Seller accept his fault and apologise. But I still do not have my refund of $542 for surface and seller is not resoponding. I again contacted eBay and they told me again they cant help me. That is why I user word disaster. It is SHAME on Ebay. I always buys my clinic materials on eBay but now I am thinking to move out. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Ebay policy's are made for seller and not for buyer. I am planning to call my bank and have this money stop from there side. if I will go that route then it will be bad for all parties. Today I called and spoke with ebay rep. (name - RAIN) and explain situation. She told me eBay cant help. Suggest me to call bank. PAYPAL says wait for 2 weeks and they will enter. why seller is seating on my money? EBAY IS DISASTER. NO HELP.

It sounds like you accidentally closed the return request.
If not, could you please clarify what you did when you went back to your return request?

Yes, buyers do have the option to receive their refund in the form of Ebay gift cards.

Are you saying that eBay, instead of refunding to your payment source, offered gift cards?
That doesn't sound right.
How about returning here, taking a deep breath, and starting over? You bought something on _______.
It arrived, but you want to return it. What is the reason for return? Did you actually open a return case with eBay?

A while back, eBay started offering buyers who return an item a choice of receiving their refund as gift cards or back to their original payment method. Some buyers like the gift cards because it is faster than waiting for a refund to a credit card, which can take 2 or 3 days.

·5 months agoAre you returning because the item is not as described? Did you actually open an item not as described case with eBay? I don't understand the part about returning April 2nd. Usually when you open a return and the seller sends you a prepaid return label, you can return it immediately. Ahd what are the "only two gift card or something else" but not to your CC.
Did you accidentally close your return case?

Maybe the seller closed it if it was a buyer's remorse return?
Or did you click on closing the return by mistake?
