Hello
I purchased a compressed sofa and it was shipped late. It didn't arrived on time and eBay closed the case in my favor and I was refunded. It arrived today, the box is in terrible shape, the top is partially opened because it was not taped properly. I was going to ask the seller if he wants it back, he can have it but it will need to be picked up by the shipper. I'm not going to fix the box and I can't lift it to bring it to the shipper. I don't even think they will take the box in the condition it is in. Should I message the seller or just let it go? I purchased something else when it didn't show up and don't need it any more.

·4 months agoIt works on the same principle as a mattress in a box. It's made of foam and, per Google, "Manufacturers use industrial machinery to remove the air from the sofa's high-density foam, significantly shrinking its volume so it can easily fit through tight doorways, stairwells, and elevators."

From what you've shared in this and your other threads it sounds like the seller was dropshipping. I would contact the seller with photos of the box and tell them exactly what you've said here -- that you can't lift it and they'll have to arrange for the shipper to pick it up if they want it back. It's highly doubtful they'll want to incur that expense, but you will have given them the choice to get the item back. If they indicate they don't want to do that or just don't respond the item is yours to donate or dispose of as you see fit.

You can message the seller and see what they want to do.
If they want it returned, they'll have to pay return shipping.

I suggest you do so.

OP4 months agoI will but I doubt very much fedex or whoever he wants to pick it up will take it in the condition of the box. I;ll sent him photos and he can decide
