Reporting a seller
When reporting a seller that doesn't want to or won't complete a sale, does ebay keep your user name anonymous? or do they let the particular seller know who's reporting them?

·3 years agoOh yeah id like to report a seller. I dont know if ebay reads this but just in case, This seller im reffering to thinks they like run ebay, like I asked them to cancel a bid for me because i was locked into an auction and I didnt want the item anymore. They wrote me back telling me they were going to try to ban me from ebay. I think thats rude. The sellers username is ****.

·3 years agoEven if eBay did read this, there's nothing to report. If you'd check out eBay rules you'd discover that eBay considers all bids to be irrevocable contracts. While buyers are allowed to *ask* sellers to cancel, sellers are never obligated to do so. So the time to decide you don't want an item is before you bid, not after you win.
All that said, a seller can no more have you banned for asking to cancel than you can have the seller banned for refusing. The worst a seller can do is give you an unpaid item strike if you don't pay. Two of those and you'll find yourself blocked from a great many listings.
