Report A Missing Delivery?
How do I report a package that is missing or hasn't been delivered 5 days past the delivery date?
Google is telling me you can report a missing package up to 30 days after the delivery date.. Well, it's been 5 days and it's still in tracking hell and just says "In Transit, Arriving Late" on the tracking and has said that for 5 days now and hasn't udpated at all..
Google also says to go to your purchase history, and select "More Actions" then "Item hasn't arrived". I did that and the "item hasn't arrived" option isn't there.
No options to ask ebay to step in are there.. I want my package or I want a refund, it was $400 freaking dollars!

Your seller didn't do this to you. USPS did.
If it's any consolation, I've had a dozen of those in the last month.
ALL have now been delivered. (from 7 to 14 days late).

Because you have tracking information that shows the item is still in transit, if you file an item not received dispute now, ebay will extend the time before you can ask ebay to step in, until after the latest info in the tracking info.
If your package is in one of the states hit by the storm that closed down a large swath of the country from Kansas to the east coast, that could be the reason for the recent delay until the 9th.
"There is no "I didn't get it" in any menu anywhere to be found".
Yes there is, but first you have to go to More actions open it and click on Return Item, then a menu of reasons for a return appears one of which is I haven't received it. Dumb I know, but that is where it is.
Hopefully, if the seller shipped the item quickly, you do not punish them for the USPS' foul up by leaving non positive feedback.
For future reference searching Google to get answers to ebay issues often returns poor or false info about using ebay, posted by people who don't know how ebay's Money Back Guarantee works. Come to these boards and post about your issue, many of us know more about ebay and their policies than their reps do.

OP1 year agoThe seller has a feedback rating of "1"... How do I know I wasn't just scammed and it's a **bleep** tracking number? Maybe I should just kickstart a return now while I still can before I get screwed.

·1 year agoDon't do that! Why on earth would you start a return claim when you don't have the item? If you file a return claim, then you are telling eBay that you have received an unacceptable item, and therefore you will NOT be able to follow that with a non-receipt claim.

OP1 year agoMy concern is that it's some kind of scam.. I did contact the local post offices that it passed through in Texas, and they are saying it's a legitimate tracking number and they apparently have photos of the package with my address on the label..
But my concern is that if at some point it's marked as "delivered" on the tracking, and it isn't delivered to me, then I'll be out of options at that point and lose my $400 AND the item...

·1 year agoAre you relying on Goggle's AI rather than on the USPS's site or even eBay? Here's some information about the process, direct from USPS:

·1 year agoA day after the estimated delivery date Ebay gave you, open an Item Not Received case.
Go to your purchase history and click I didn't get it in the menu next to the item.
The seller will have 3 days to provide a tracking number showing it was delivered or refund.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

OP1 year agoI did everything you said already. There is no "I didn't get it" in any menu anywhere to be found.
The tracking just says "In Transit, Arriving Late."
Was Scheduled for Friday January, 3rd.
Now when I click on "Track Package" it says Now arriving Thursday, January 9th.

·1 year agoThere is absolutely no need to be worried about it yet. The fact that USPS has updated the expected delivery date to a specific date is an indication that they know exactly where in transit the item is and that it's still on its way. Most likely it has been delayed due to the recent snow-- my mother just had a package arrive today that had initially been forecast for delivery on Monday. It was delayed due to the weather.

·1 year agoFirst go to the USPS home page and enter the tracking number.
If that fails to produce any results beyond those which you have reported above, you can go here and report missing mail (you will need to set up an account; the process works and assigns you a ticket number of sorts):

Recently, I decided to go the the Facebook USPS page (after going through the website above) and send a message about a missing book that I had previously reported. I gave them the ticket number and the name of the buyer to whom I sent the book and believe it or not, my issue was resolved in 20 minutes. The folks who respond to the messages there are excellent.
