I do! Bagpiper3. I'm a retired librarian and scout out old interesting books and sell them reasonably. I've been shipping books for over 25 years so I ship carefully and I ship within 24 hours. There are SO many scam artists out there. I'm currently embroiled with a buyer who said his books were damaged, so he took a tool and swiped the tops of the books. This could not have happened in the USPS system, so he just wanted his money back. Meanwhile, I approved the return, and he has WEEKS to ship back to me. I don't get it. We are expected to ship within a day, but return crooks have weeks. So Ebay has locked my account until this is resolved. I should have checked this character's Facebook. Maybe a court date will prompt him to send the books back.
Many of the huge discount booksellers (especially those whom you have mentioned) are amongst those with the very lowest prices (including free shipping), but also those with either very minimal (or generic) condition descriptions.
If you arrange your search list by the lowest price first, skip past those booksellers, especially if their feedback shows quite a few negatives or too many neutrals.
Then you can begin a serious book search amongst smaller eBay booksellers who have better feedback, but whose prices may be higher than that of the huge discount sellers.
Keep in mind, as well, that many of the smaller eBay booksellers can not afford "free shipping," so plan to pay more money for better quality and safer shipping methods.
If book condition and conscientious packaging are of concern to you, read the feedback that other buyers have provided for several of the sellers whom you are considering, and let that be your guide for a wise purchase -- 9 times out 10, you will probably find that you have made the correct decision.
I appreciate everybody's time here, but this is not what I asked for. I am ONLY looking for the names of any other booksellers you might have had good experiences with.
I am NOT looking for advice on how to use feedback, how to message sellers, or how to do returns. I am not here to vent. I only need the names of good sellers.
Names, if you know of any good ones. That's it. Thanks, & have a good week.
I don't think anyone can tell you the names of any seller on this forum as it violates policy of naming.......
There is one seller I can think of that posts a lot on this board regarding books. If you search the forum you can at least find that one person that I can't name (I'm sorry).ðŸ˜

Barnes and Noble or find a local bookstore that can help you with your specific condition requests. Trusting a random user on a community board is not exactly a scientific method or going to solve your problem. YMMV

@Anonymous,
Many of the high volume book sellers on ebay are charities or individual seller's who have people not trained very well write out the descriptions for 100s of books at at time. They may not be taking the time to look over the books carefully before choosing a "condition" and writing a description. especially if they are volunteers or low pay employees.
You can tell if a book seller does things right by checking their feedback profile page before buying from one. You can click on the numbers of negative and neutral feedback they have received to read only those comments. They can often tell you how well a seller describes or ships. If a high volume book seller's feedback percentage is below 98.6% they are likely not doing a very good job of describing, packing or shipping. But you should still not go by a feedback percentage alone.
Shipping issues may occur because of the volume of business some of those sellers do. I would imagine that some are shipping many books each day inviting the wrong books to be shipped to the wrong address. As for books being packed in paper or cardboard being delivered during inclement weather, the carrier may not know what's in the package.
Buyers should provide a place where packages can be delivered or left that protects them from bad weather. My porch is open to weather, and at the side of my house, but I placed a water proof container next to the door for deliveries, and my USPS, FedEx, UPS carriers have a note about where to put packages in their scanners, so they know to put packages in the container in bad weather. I even have a swing down note inside my mail box letting a carrier know where packages go. My regular carriers and their substitutes even do it when the weather is nice. If you have regular carriers in your area, let them know where to leave packages so they do not get wet so they can enter your delivery preferences info into their scanners.
As @soh.maryl has stated, the eBay MBG does cover you from any purchases that arrive not as described. You could reach out to the sellers BEFORE you make a purchase to inquiry about any additional condition questions and/or shipping methods. Or just support your local bookstore (if possible in your area) and order from them. YMMV
Don't know much about eBay book sellers; however, would like to point out that the MBG covers you when you receive an item that's not as described, or simply do not receive an item. BTW, do you check a seller's FB before placing your order?
Hi, thanks, but I am already aware of Ebay's return policies and how to use the feedback system.
What I am looking for here, are recommendations of other booksellers that I could try instead. I would rather avoid having to open up disputes in the first place.

Nobody here can provide you with a reliable seller. You must do that research yourself.
