@esojzen-915,
You replied:
"I opened a case with eBay because the can opener I received only opened 3 or 4 cans and stopped working. They told me to wait until February 8 to receive help from you and I did not receive it".
When you open a dispute through ebay it will appear on your My ebay Summary page. They gave you a date that you could escalate the dispute, if the seller did not reply or send a return shipping label by the 8th. The "Ask us to step in" is a button that automatically does that. eBay will look to see if there was a response and if not they will start a refund, which can take 3-5 days to be processed, and the funds returned to the account you used to pay with. If a link to print out a label was sent, you have 5 days to get it to the carrier.
FYI. None of us are ebay employees, we are members like you, who for the most part are experienced buyers and sellers, who know ebay's policies better than most of their reps.
It can take anywhere from a few hours to 12 business days or even longer for a refund to complete. It can depend on the payment method involved, the banks, and the day it started processing on.

@esojzen-915,
Before we can help you, we need to know when you received the opener, the reason for wanting to return it. Did you only contact the seller, or open a dispute through ebay. Did you pay to return it, or where you sent a return shipping label, and what if any other actions you have taken.
I opened a case with eBay because the can opener I received only opened 3 or 4 cans and stopped working. They told me to wait until February 8 to receive help from you and I did not receive it.
ALL eBay buyers need to read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers, preferably BEFORE making any purchases here, so that they are equipped with the knowledge of what to do if/when a transaction goes wrong.
You received an item that's not as described. In that case, you, the buyer had 30 days after receipt to open an item not as described case with eBay. Go to the item in your Purchase History and click on the "Return" option. Then click on the reason "Not As described".
Then you wait 96 hours for a response from your seller. No response? Then you return to the case and request that eBay step in. The buyer will be required to either send you a prepaid return label (US purchase) or to reimburse you in advance for the cost of return shipping (International).
I have a hunch, based on your rather scanty information, that you DID open the case, but then did not return to it.
When you get the label, you pack up the can opener and return it to the seller. After he receives it, you will be refunded within a few days.
If that does not happen, you contact eBay through the case again and you will be refunded (seller's funds) and told to keep the item.
Based on your rather scanty information, I have a hunch that you DID open the case, could have returned and escalated on the 8th, but didn't. Do that now.

·2 years agoHow did you pay and when does it say the refund was issued? If it was a credit card it can take a couple of weeks to show up.

·2 years agoRefunds for returns ate not instant, it takes time ask your bank or credit card company how long it takes them to process refunds.

·2 years agoHi @esojzen-915
We still don’t know what steps you’ve taken so far … or the dates you took them … but I’m guessing that you are waiting for eBay to step in.
If you opened a return request at least 4 business days ago … then YOU need to go back to your open request and ask eBay to step in.
[BTW, we’re fellow members here … NOT eBay. 🙂]
