Recieved item other than described
I order a specific Turbotax Cd from a seller's listing. I received another software CD that was not what I paid for and cannot use this one they sent for my situation. I asked the buyer to send me the correct one. The seller asked for a photo of the item . I sent it and then no response. I sent several more emails to the seller and ebay. After a week ebay asked to step in. I agreed. Five minutes later ,Ebay closed the case I opened stating that the seller provided a tracking number. Yes they did, but did NOT send what I purchased. This is the second time ebay closed a case due to the seller providing a tracking number. The last time I ordered some rare military buttons and received some old buttons off granny's coat. Having a tracking nimber does not mean that the seller upheld his end of the contract. When a buyer buys something, they expect to get what they paid for. Does that mean that if I list a gold watch and send a scratched cd and provide a tracking number then ebay will approve it? Of course they shouldn't, BUT they do. Very poor policy on ebay's part

·3 years agoIf you haven't already, find the item in your Purchase History and press the big, blue 'Return this item' button, citing that it was 'Not as Described'. You might have to send it back for a refund, but hey... you don't want it anyway. The MBG is iron-clad for buyers when used properly. Try again... you'll be made whole.

·3 years agoOnce you open the case, an ITEM NOT DESCRIBED CASE, follow the prompts exactly. If you do, you will get your refund. DO NOT accept an offer from the seller to get the correct cd. You void your protection incase the cd does arrive and does not work. Ask the seller for a refund. You can always re-buy the item from him if they relist it after you get your refund. Goodluck.

·3 years agoIt sounds like you opened the wrong kind of case. You needed to open an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, since you did actually receive something, but the wrong thing.
If you list a gold watch, but ship a scratched CD, your buyer could/should, using the MBG, open an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, just as you should have done with your item. If your buyer should make the wrong choice, and open an item not received case, it would be disallowed by eBay because proof is shown that the buyer did receive something.

OP3 years agoI didn't know bots are the ones making decisions.
I miss the Mom and Pop stores. I like dealing with humans. I need to un-plug from technology for awhile.
