·8 months agoMore likely it's the fake tracking number scam. The scammer needed a tracking number saying delivered to your zip code. That is good enough, they don't go by address. Only zip code.
I think "brushing" was invented so as not to explain the tracking scam.

·8 months agoActually brushing in e-commerce is completely different from the fake tracking scam. According to Google AI: "Brushing, also known as "review brushing", is a fraudulent e-commerce tactic where sellers send unsolicited packages to people to inflate their ratings and sales. How it works: Sellers find addresses online and send packages to unsuspecting recipients. The packages may be addressed to the recipient, but lack a return address or have a retailer's return address."

I'm not sure what good you think reporting these packages will do. There are no laws or regulations prohibiting brushing in the US. And even if you can prove the packages came from eBay sellers (most brushing seems to come from Amazon) I'm not sure what you think eBay can do about it.

·8 months agoThe federal trade commission will probably tell you what you received are “giftsâ€. They won’t investigate it. Items sent to you that you did not order are essentially gifts.
eBay has nothing to do with it.

·8 months agoThay are yours now, toss, donate, jump up and down on 'em. What do you think the federal trade commission is going to do about it? Nothing!
You are now on the receiving end of returns that the seller didn't want back and are a dumping ground. If you contact the shipper, they will pretty much tell you the same thing I did above. Heck add to your inventory and sell the items.
