Reason for Return - Item Didn’t Match Description
The seller’s account was either suspended or terminated post-purchase. The seller created a shipping label before account termination.
I received an envelope with the shipping label printed on it and my purchased item was not included. Since eBay tracks the label, the package was technically delivered on their platform. Obviously the item doesn’t match description and I have requested a refund.
Two questions:
Has anyone else had to just print out a return label and slap it on an envelope for a package that never arrived? I have proof of the envelope being the only delivered item, but want to make sure I meet the criteria for reimbursement.
How long is the refund process on scams like these?

I have been ‘prepared’ to return an empty envelope with a label slapped on it … but haven’t been required to do it. A quick refund was always forthcoming.
I’m glad you knew to file a ‘return request’ as opposed to an ‘Item not received’ claim. Another alternative was to have requested a refund directly from your payment source under similar circumstances.

·4 months agoMost of the time, since the seller's account is gone, they won't require you to ship it back, but yes, if you get a return label from eBay and they are requiring you to ship it back, just send back what you received (the empty envelope). You'll be fine, the seller won't even be able to contest it even if they were brave enough to try.
