Question about counterfeit books sold as real.
I bought a book and received it today. It looks new, but the isbn number is a hardback..... I received a paperback. I'm concerned if the correct info is in the book, is it complete? What do you do in this case?

ebay catalog often has the same isbn for HC and PB and it is easy to miss while listing...
ebay has the same isbn I know for a fact on Terry Pratchett Discworld books in HC, PB and BCE. It made putting a collection together extremely frustrating and costly for casual sellers.

But if you specifically wanted a hardback and not a paperback, yes, return it.
