Purchased Item description revised when re listed cancelling out original description on sold item
Hi, i purchased a football match on dvd, which clearly stated ''full match''. As a collector i was a bit suspicious of this ''full match'', as it was only broadcast as 55 mins, and the full 90 mins has never been seen in collecting circles. I always thought when you look at your purchased item, either in my ebay, or sold/completed items, details are exactly as per original listing. Wrong.! Seller re listed, changing full match to 55 minutes and this new description shows up as the old description also. It was cheap, but basically this is deceitful in my book. Has anyone experienced this type of manipulation.? Thanks.

I found the listing from the feedback you left for the seller.
It was a multi-quantity listing, so it didn't end when you purchased your copy. The seller still has at least 10 of them for sale. It was not relisted.
So, when you brought this discrepancy to the seller's attention, he revised the description to make it more accurate for other purchasers. He also apologized to you for the error in his response to your feedback. I don't see that as being deceitful; it looks to me like he was trying to make the listing more accurate for future buyers.
When you view the listing (on a computer), you should be able to see a note like this at the top, which explains that the listing was revised after you purchased it. You can click the link that says "item you purchased" to see the description that applied to your purchase. (This may not be available on the mobile app.)

You have posted your concern on eBay's U.S. based site (ebay.com) However, you are located in the U.K. whose site address is (ebay.co.uk) You might get better answers from members on your home site's community https://community.ebay.co.uk/
In the U.S. American Football games are the property of the National Football League, NFL, and it is against the law to broadcast, reproduce or show them, much less sell copies of the games online. Your over all Football (Soccer to us) league, probably owns the rights to the broadcasts and that is why collectors cannot find copies of the Match.
I do not know any thing about the matches you see broadcast in the U.K., but ours are full of commercials, and network breaks where the scores or results of other games are given. If one were to remove those, the actual game/match time might drop from 90 minutes to 55 minutes of actual play.

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply, and pointing out i posted on the U.S ebay site. First of all, ebay UK, do not care about English soccer games copyright. I even enquired, and they said they dont break the rules - go figure.? With that endorsement, i purchased. Appreciate your comment, but this was a straight forward 90 minute soccer match edited down to 55 mins. The seller changed the description of the item i bought when re listing, which cancels out the description from the original listing. Certainly something t bare in mind, when purchasing goods. I'll take screen shots of certain purchases fron now on.

·2 years agoIf you look at the item through your purchase history you should see the item exactly as it was when you purchased it. If you look at it through the sold items page, it will show any revisions made after your purchase.
