Purchased a part on Ebay said it was delivered but I never received the package.
Recently I ordered a $600 part off ebay and the tracking from FedEx shows that it was delivered and signed for but it wasn't. The person who signed it wasn't even a person that works here, we also have surveillance cameras and at the time of delivery we saw no FedEx vehicles come up to our business. The seller is not at fault but I believe FedEx is since I believe they never delivered the part to us. We called FedEx the day after to tell them about the missing package and they told us the seller would have to file a claim. Well now that ebay closed our case he no longer is liable to remedy our situation. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point but clearly we never received the package and have video surveillance showing it was never delivered at the date and time they said it was delivered. This is the first time this have ever happened in the last 4 years of ordering from ebay but we feel like this is wrong since we never got the part we paid for. Anyone have an suggestions on what we should do, as I dont want to be out $600 for nothing.

OP2 years agoThank you to all who have responded with tips, I certainly appreciate it. I ended up opening a dispute with FedEx to investigate where the package was, they ended up closing it within 48hrs saying they could not help me and to reach out to the shipper to open a claim. Seller opened ticket and they closed it within 24hours tell him it was delivered correctly and that it was my problem. I call FedEx to tell them it was never delivered to my address and that I have video surveillance showing. They said they did the investigation and saw it was delivered correctly and would not give me written documentation to appeal my case. I understand this was not the sellers fault but as a buyer I was limited to what I could do since FedEx was so uncooperative with me. A couple days go by and an AutoZone employee shows up and said that FedEx had left our package at their store, which is about 10 miles down the road from us. FedEx did nothing to help the situation tried to pass it off to the shipper and lied about it being delivered correctly. Not sure what one can do to prevent this from happening again as a buyer but I really thought we were going to be out $600 with no part, just glad AutoZone ended up bringing it by to us. Thanks again for all the responses!

·2 years agoSo the emails in your inbox....not eBay...states item was mailed and delivered to you? I get a lot of emails in my inbox when it's a package from FedEx. And when it is being delivered that day. eBay closed the case....did it pass 30 days for a refund?
A last resort...and it's a last resort...you can dispute it online with your debit or credit card. A bank will do a one courtesy dispute in a monthly statement. Usually takes 2 weeks for a refund. I prefer doing it online and not by telephone or walking into your banking institution.
Is it possible the seller wrote the wrong address on package? I realize you don't want to blame the seller. There has to be an email trail in your inbox on your computer of item in transit. I had that happen to me.

·3 years agoWhat's the tracking number, @615motors? Check the weight at the FedEx website, like this example
To see if it's even the correct weight for your item?

·3 years agoWe got misdelivery packages every week from Nextdoor even next street, when the delivery address is a business signature it’s a joke, we sent a $1200 package to a customer by fedex, and signature was required , they also delivered to next door, If u didn’t receive it or fedex delivered to wrong address , it’s sender’s job to retrieve it or file a claim .

·3 years agoYou have to get written documentation from FedEx that states the package was not delivered to your address.
One small correction: The documentation you need from FedEx is that the address on the package wasn't yours. If the package was addressed to you but misdelivered that's a FedEx issue, not an eBay issue.

@kathiec
Are you saying that if FedEX misdelivers a parcel (not the usual fake tracking scam) it is the
BUYER's problem? That the Money Back Guarantee becomes VOID just like it WAS a fake tracking scam issue?
kathiec
·3 years agoThat's exactly what I'm saying. If the package is addressed to the buyer and the carrier misdelivers it, the MBG is going to declare it delivered. When have you ever seen a successful INR case involving a truly misdelivered package? I'm in no way saying the seller shouldn't provide full assistance in tracking the package down. I'm simply saying that if you present 'misdelivery' as a reason to prevail in a case eBay is going to rule against you.

·3 years agoYou have to get written documentation from FedEx that states the package was not delivered to your address. And then appeal the case with the documentation.
There is a scam where the seller sends a random package to another address in your zipcode and that will qualify as delivered according to ebay.
You have to prove that is what happened.
