When I purchase an expensive item on ebay shouldn't there be some kind of proof of purchase or verification with a tracking# somewhere on my computer?

Not necessarily.
If you have not received your item by the last estimated day of delivery, just open up an "item not received" case against the seller. The seller must respond within a few days, or eBay will step in to force the seller to give you a refund.
But don't allow the seller to stall you beyond 30 days after the last estimated day of delivery. Just go ahead and open the INR case -- either the seller sends the item to you, and you receive it, and close the case; or the seller refunds you, or eBay forces the seller to refund you.
It is quite easy to open an INR case, as well: Simply go again to your"Purchase History" screen, and scroll down to "More actions," and then to "I didn't receive it" (or whatever the words may be), then follow the instructions.
But you will NOT be able to open an INR case until AFTER the last expected delivery date.

·2 years agoFor all eBay purchases, no matter what the price, you will receive an email describing the purchase. As for a tracking number, sellers are not required to provide or even use one. Most do however. The tracking number will be in another email and sent when the seller either purchases shipping from eBay or enters the number by hand.

Any item which you purchase on eBay will appear on your "Purchase History" screen, which is one of the options under "My eBay" at the upper right corner of your screen.
While many sellers may supply a tracking number, that number is not required, and is largely considered to be a security feature for sellers, in case a shipped item may go astray.

OP2 years agoI contacted the seller and they don't know why I'm concerned.They said of course the money was taken out you made the purchase but there is no record of it anywhere and to top it off they have sent me notes to make a bid on what I already bought twice.

·2 years agoThe seller isn't the one sending you reminders to bid. Those are auto-generated by eBay. The seller has nothing to do with it.
