product never shipped, getting run around
I purchased 2 products for a total of about 300 GBP. it never shipped and I've asked the seller for updates throughout the year, and I kept getting 'it's on its way from supplier' but if you can't wait, order some of other products. It turns out I'm outside of a 90 day refund window ( just found out). I don't want the other products as I ordered specifically something I wanted. I am pretty patient to keep going with this "it's coming" but I'm now out of patience. I tried calling ebay and I get this automated circular situation and never to an agent to explain my issues. I tried chat, same thing etc... I just want a refund so I can move on and the seller says ebay has removed it from their portal to provide a refund. I Called the CC company, same issue with the 90 day. (learned now the hard way to not be so generous). Any ideas how I can get a refund as I never received the product?

OP2 years agoThanks for the replies - I found out the hard way about these "date" limitations of 30, and 90 days with both Ebay and card companies. I called my CC company that I have been with for +25 years and several of their card products... gave them the details of my situation, what I did to try to resolve the issue with both the seller and eBay, and they did give me the 90 day rule. But then they escalated internally once they got all the details and saw all my emails ( hint: make sure you cc your private email address for your ebay messages as the ebay messages disappear as well!), they put a disputed on my card and then they put in a transaction reversal, which is great. Will see if it sticks but looks promising.

·2 years agoIt is likely to stick. Your credit card issuer has the power to make it stick, and you are their customer, not the seller and not Ebay, so they are motivated.

·2 years agoWhile yes, it's likely this dispute will stick, it's erroneous to say sellers aren't also the card issuers' customers. Card issuers make almost as much from swipe fees as they do from interest. And there are a few card issuers who are notorious for finding disputes in sellers' favor a majority of the time.

·2 years agoSorry, your credit card was your last option.
On Ebay, you only have 30 days after the estimated delivery date to be covered by the MBG.

·2 years agoIf you paid with Paypal you have 180 days to open a not received case. If it's been longer than that or you didn't use Paypal, you're out of luck.

·2 years agoWait...what? You asked the seller for updates throughout the year? Money back guarantee only covers up to 30 days from estimated date of delivery. Sounds like your seller strung you along past MBG protection.
eBay can no longer help you.
Most credit card companies give you 180 days to file a chargeback. Yours obviously doesn't.
I hate to say it, but, you're out of luck all the way around. sorry.
