problem with abusive seller whom I'ver never had contact with.
I surprisingly got an abusive, totally inappropriate email from a seller whom I never had communications with. It was regarding an item I purchased (rather expensive) and shortly thereafter received a confirmation notice. Fine. Out of the blue, I get an an abusive and intimidating email from the seller making all kinds of false accusations (unbelievable) ! My order gets cancelled ! I then get a posting on eBay from the seller informing other buyers about me (in red lettering). Is this totally crazy? I contact eBay and speak to a rep. I explain my issue with the written comment of the seller. The seller continues to sell. Ebay has regulations about this kind of communications. Now I get no response (to date) from eBay. I have purchased tons of stuff from eBay and now it appears that there is no accountability. I'm losing faith in eBay when I've utilized them for years with absolutely no problems.

"eBay can check that out easily!"
It is only easy if as instructed you filing an appeal through the Ebay system. If you don't have Ebay review it then no it won't get removed. Contacting customer support does nothing. They will just agree with you and some will instruct you to go through the proper way and that's through the system.
"An apology would be a simple thing. Issue done."
Let it go. Not all seller are the same. Not all sellers are professional.

·8 months agoThere is a small segment of the seller community who believe they have the right to vet the buyers who purchase their items after the sale. Knowing full well that that is contrary to Ebay policy, they are defensive, argumentative and sometimes downright nasty.
Many people do not wander away from businesses which are run by civilized people so that they may be inexperienced with this behavior. The likelihood is that you may not be being treated in a manner that many of this person's buyers are.

·8 months agoWhen you make an expensive purchase and have a history of leaving bad feedback to others things like this could happen. Accept the cancellation and purchase the coin from another seller who doesn't have a problem making a transaction with you. What you need to do though as another person said is to appeal that feedback the seller gave to you. You need to go through the Ebay system and have Ebay review the feedback. The seller made a prohibited act with leaving a negative comment in a positive feedback. Also keep in mind Ebay's handling of suspension is on them. I wouldn't worry about punishment for this seller and in fact they won't get punished. The keys on your end is get your money back which you did, get that feedback removed and move on to the next transaction. You are dealing in a business. Not all sellers are friendly.

If you make offers, you may get declined by other sellers as well, especially the wary/experienced sellers.

OP8 months agoI never made an offer ! I purchased the item for the selling price. No questions posed to the seller. The sale was confirmed. I've have made many, many purchases on eBay without any problems whatsoever. The accusations and unfounded/unsupported comments made by the seller (out of the blue) caught me by surprise, to put it mildly. My response was very controlled and without any malicious intent. That would be unacceptable and serve no purpose. There was no vetting because the accusations are totally false. Highly unprofessional. eBay can check that out easily! A professional seller should have checked out his information and said "I made a mistake or I have you confused with someone else". An apology would be a simple thing. Issue done. I thank you for your response ! I just never expected this. And he continued to sell! Live and learn.

"I've have made many, many purchases on eBay without any problems whatsoever."
Really?
Of the 14 feedbacks which you have left for others, 4 were neutrals, and 2 were negatives.
Thus, your statement that your "many, many purchases on eBay without any problems whatsoever" is proven false by your own assertion.
Welcome to the BBL club.
