Probably not news, but...grrrrr - Found an Amazon drop-shipper the hard way
(used my buying account, not this one) We all know drop-shipping by buying from a third party after the sale and abusing Amazon free shipping is not allowed. If you store your product in an Amazon warehouse that's fine. This came with a third party seller name and address ... and a GIFT RECEIPT . Massive red flag - big enough to use as a bedspread on a king-size bed. Purchased from seller on 2/5 . Gift receipt shows purchased 2/7. Seller was abusing Amazon free shipping and bought from another seller instead of buying their own merch.
No surprises there. Commodity items will be commodity items. What burned my drawers is that the only way to report the violation to eBay is to start a return. I actually liked the item, but not being scammed. Used SNAD since a key part of the description after all is who's selling the item. Names and states are not a match. I was a seller (vintage and antique) for 18 years and darned well know better.

OP2 years agoThat would be only fair. This seller actually issued a return label in the hopes I wouldn't be able to use it. It's a UPS label and they charge through the nose for a merch return pickup. Little does he know there's a UPS store right behind the grocery I'll be at tomorrow anyway. Back it goes. Once the refund is processed I'll be buying a new item on Amazon and cutting out the potential skullduggery. Oh, and making a donation to a local charity anyway. Just a smaller one than if I'd ended up with both money (they'd have gotten all of it) and item.

·2 years agoThere is a way to report a seller without starting a return. Go here and select that the seller has violated one of eBay's policies.

OP2 years agoHuh. Now why wouldn't that pop up when I searched for it? And why didn't eBay make it easier to find? I'll have to wait to log out and re-login to actually do it of course. I tried on Amazon too and honestly could NOT get anywhere to do it. You can only report an item you ordered yourself on the site, not items sent to you as "gifts".
As far as I could tell anyway. DId go onto FB and report it to the seller with order number. Abuse of Prime is the same as shoplifting, and one guess who pays for shoplifting. It is NOT the retailer/seller or the manufacturer. It's us.

·2 years agoIf you Google 'report eBay seller' it's literally the first result. Or if you go to the Help & Contact link at the bottom of every eBay page and search 'report seller' it gives you a big blue button to click to do it. So I don't really think you can argue that eBay doesn't make it easy to find.

·2 years agoReporting to eBay is a non-starter, but Amazon is a different matter. They can and have kicked people out of Prime for misusing it.

OP2 years agoThat's tomorrow's job. I'm still cheesed off that there's no way to report drop shipping violations to eBay without starting a return. That's idiotic. I will most likely be reordering... from Amazon. Maybe even from the original seller who is of course blameless.

As far as being not as described that has to do with the item itself, not because you didn't like how or who delivered it.
Me, I wouldn't care if it was delivered by Amazon in a blue van, , USPS in a white jeep or UPS in a brown truck. What matters to me is does it match the picture and was it delivered on time. When you get to be my age life is too short to get riled up over small stuff.

·2 years agoI have at least 3 shipments with the original package, packing slip and gift receipts.
You can't report it to Amazon unless you have an account and I refuse to open an account with them.
I left Amazon more than 10 years ago and closed my account 5 years ago.
I have gone around and around trying to find a way to report to Amazon on the misuse of these sellers Prime account, but only to find out that some of the emails just bounce back.
It would be nice that the post office would take this information of the the Amazon sellers misuse and go after them and do a calculation base on their sales to get back some shipping money they should of paid.

·2 years agoWhy would USPS care? Just because Prime shipping is free to the buyer doesn't mean the actual shipping is free. That's like saying an eBay seller offering free shipping doesn't have to pay postage.

·2 years agoIf there is room in the sale for an Ebay fee and an Amazon fee, it is likely that you committed malpractice as a shopper.
Over the years I have developed a list of the items I will buy on the various marketplace site, and never had to encounter a dropshipment.
I am genetically incapable of allowing myself to overpay, so I do not buy electronics on Amazon, clothing on Ebay, and have similar rules of thumb for most items.
On rare occasions when I sold on Amazon, I was out of stock on a book, and discovered I could not risk dropshipping a used book from any site, too many sellers who did not describe accurately. I cancelled the order.
You appear to have been around long enough to distrust other Ebay sellers. A great many Ebay sellers do.
