Postage Due on "Free Delivery" item
I ordered a printer cable for $4.78 with "Free Delivery". I received a postage due notice from USPS for $6.05. I no longer need this cable and was blindsided by the postage due notice. The package is at the local PO. How do I send this cable back and get a refund?

The seller , feeling vindictive, could buy one of your lower-priced items and then leave negative feedback for it. A defense against that is to put that person on your blocked buyer's list.

OP1 year agoI have filed an INR and eBay replied that refund is forthcoming in a few days. Thanks to all for your help.

Just do not say anything that could get your FB removed.
Read about FB so you know what is and is not allowed.

OP1 year agoThanks to all who replied. Tomorrow will be one day after estimated delivery date. I will file an INR claim.

Then file an item not received claim.
Seller will need to refund you.

·1 year agoI think you're hosed. If you refuse delivery, you'll lose your money back guarantee and they won't refund you. If you pay it and then return it, you'll only get your original $4.78 returned. I'd just pay the shipping and use the cable.

OP1 year agoI no longer need the cable. Turns out I had what I needed all along. Would rather just lose the $4.78 instead of spending an additional $6.05 for something I don't need. Should I just take no action and let USPS deal with it?

leave it there. Do nothing now.
USPS will handle it.
No tracking. Sender cannot prove delivery or refusal.
Open an INR one day after estimated delivery date to get a refund of your payment.
