Pay in Four issue
Hi everyone! Is there an issue with the Lay In Four option when checking out? I went to use it this afternoon when trying to buy something and there was no option for it. Has ebay opted out of using that as a payment option or is this some sort of glitch? Thanks!

·2 years agoI used to be able to use pay in 4 on auctions I won too. I bid on an expensive item intending to use pay in 4 and the option just wasn't there. I use pay in 4 for many expensive items on ebay and without the option I'll be buying much less on there.

OP2 years agoI just checked and it looks like the Pay in 4 option is back. I tried with a couple of BINs and the option was there for both. Hopefully it was just a glitch as mentioned earlier in this conversation.

I lost the option about a week ago.. Strange because I always pay them off early even when buying over a grand! I gave up an no longer use ebay.

·2 years agoIf the seller requires a payment method in advance for an offer or an auction, you may not have the option to use some payment methods like PayPal pay-in-4, but you should still be able to choose a credit card payment method through your PayPal wallet.
If you mean that when you check out of eBay and select PayPal, you are not able to choose a specific payment method in your PayPal wallet but one is automatically selected for you, in that case go to your eBay Payments page in your eBay account and delete the entry for PayPal that appears there.

The next time you check out on eBay and choose PayPal, you should be sent to your PayPal wallet page and given a chance to pick a specific payment method.
The issue isn't for auction bids or making an offer it's with buy it now.
Ordinarily I would place items in my cart, click pay with PayPal to use Pay in 4 like I usually do, but today my Paypal wallet doesn't give me the Pay in 4 option.

I just checked and I also no longer see the pay-in-4 option with a transaction that I believe should qualify, only the PayPal credit option appears after my cards and bank. Previously I did see that pay-in-4 option appearing there.
It's obviously some sort of glitch with PayPal.

·2 years agoI'm having the same problem starting yesterday. Pay in 4 works on other websites but not on ebay anymore.

The Pay in 4 is an option offered by PayPal, not eBay. There are some restrictions in PayPal that determine if it is presented to you as an option. Generally, if it doesn't show as an option on your PayPal page, it is not available for that transaction.
If you were required to fill out the form for a pre-selected payment option in order to make an offer or bid, it will not be an option at all in PayPal.

OP2 years agoI’ve tested multiple types on Buy It Nows and it’s just not showing up. I’ve never had this happen before and I use the Pay In 4 option a lot. I went a coffee website and tested it with an order and the Pay In 4 option popped up like usual. eBay is the only site I’m having issues with for the payment plan.
eBay has nothing at all to do with how Pay in 4 works or any aspect of Paypal. It is an issue on PayPal's Wallet because I am seeing the same.

OP2 years agoIt’s not letting you use the Pay in 4 either? Have you ever dealt with this issue in the past? This is new to me.

yes, I chose PayPal and it redirected me like it usually does. This time the pay in 4 option was completely removed. I’ve used the pay in 4 options more times than I can remember and this has never happened. I called PayPal and they said they’ve received calls about it today from other eBay members and that it was an issue with eBay, not PayPal.

·2 years agoSince it's done through the Pay Pal site, don't see how it can be an Ebay issue, when Ebay has nothing to do with what happens on the Pay Pal site.
