Parcel recived but it had been opened and the contents removed-pls advise how I can get ebay's help
I bought a book and had it delivered to the post office.
When I went to collect it today they gave me the package - it had been opened and the contents removed. The post office said it had arrived like that.
I contacted the seller.
She claimed to have used plenty of selotape and that ebay would have to sort it out.
When I go to the order, I am not allowed ton say it 'wasn't received' as ebay is marked as my having collected the package from the post office, so the system thinks I have received it.
Well, as above, I have recived an empty envelope.
I would like my money and the postage back - 10 soemthing plus postage.
I assume that is what the insurance is for.
Can anyone advise how I can get them to help me? Please.
This is so frustyratinfg as it is a book I had been looking for for ages and need for myu teaching.

·9 months agoIf it was Media Mail, and it probably was, there is no insurance.
Most seller ship books by media mail.
Follow the procedure for Ebay MBG item not as described claims as many of our colleagues have suggested.

·9 months agoI believe, also, that the Post Office is allowed to open & inspect Media Mail packages to make sure it is, indeed, media that qualifies for the reduced rate. Not sure what an inspected package looks like in this case but just throwing out the additional info.

As the others have said about what return to file.
It's up to the seller to file for an insurance claim, not you......................

·9 months agoOpen Not As Described case, nothing else…this is not your problem if item lost/ stolen on the way to you, especially when you collected package at the post office..

·9 months agoEven though you technically have nothing to return, you still choose 'return item -> not as described -> missing parts' to make a claim.

·9 months agoDid the PO make the package as Opened?
Usually the PO marks opened packages so you can prove it was empty.
You can file a claim on eBay - Not as Described and attach a photo of the package with USPS stamp of Opened package.
