Package not delivered: USPS mail theft/loss report filed and eBay appeal denied
Summary: jeanptara-0 is seeking advice on a non-delivery issue with a perfume purchased on eBay, which was marked as delivered by USPS but never arrived. They have already filed reports with USPS and eBay, but the appeal was denied. krazzykats suggests filing a chargeback with the credit card company, explaining that eBay and the seller cannot deny it. kathiec and stainlessenginecovers discuss potential scenarios including delivery errors, theft, or a fake tracking number scheme, advising further investigation at the post office and considering a credit card claim.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for advice on a non-delivery case. I bought a perfume on eBay, but the package never arrived.
Due to delivery issues, I filed a formal report/claim directly with USPS to investigate the missing package. I submitted all the documentation and filed a formal appeal with eBay’s resolution team, but my appeal was still denied and the case was closed.
Has anyone successfully escalated a case after eBay denied an appeal, even with an official USPS investigation/report provided? Is there any other way to reach a higher support tier, or is a credit card chargeback the only option left?
Thanks for any guidance!

OP1 month agoI requested it and it was denied by eBay and the seller.

·1 month agoEbay and the seller don't have the standing to deny a credit card chargeback. Only the card issuer can do that.
I'm curious what the results were of the USPS investigation? If the package wasn't addressed to you that's the fake tracking scam. But if the package was simply misdelivered or delivered correctly and stolen from your porch that's not something eBay or the seller should be responsible for.

OP1 month agoEbay closed the case because in the Ebay closed the case because the USPS information says delivered, but never reached the address sent. If the order is under my name and even the USPS status is on alert, they still do not get the package.

·1 month agoFile with your credit card. Call the number on the back on the card and report this as it happened.
It sounds like the fake tracking# scheme and most credit card companies are familiar with it.

·1 month agoIf tracking shows delivered then it's 1 of 3 things.
1.) it was delivered and stolen, not ebay or usps fault
2.) was not delivered and usps made a mistake- you need to run, don't walk- to the post office and find out; not ebay fault
3.) was stolen after delivered and not usps and ebay fault and in this case it just becomes 'tough luck' for you.
