Package delivered to wrong address by usps, no refund
I had a package marked delivered on the 20th but it didn't turn up.
On 12/24 I opened a case for "My Order never arrived"
On 12/27 I messaged the seller asking them to start a claim or talk to usps, no response.
On 12/31 I opened a case with ebay which they closed with no refund. I opened a request with USPS for them to look for the package.
On 1/6 I submitted an appeal with a screenshot of usps customer service confirming it was delivered to the wrong address
On 1/7 the appeal was denied. I messaged the seller directly but haven't heard back yet.
Anything I should be doing now? I think the only recourse I have left is a charge-back if the seller doesn't respond.

If the parcel was NOT intended for you, please see more details in message #8 here.

The problem with the appeal is, you sent a screen shot of an email from USPS. eBay will not accept that because screen shots can be edited/faked. Also the reps handling Appeals work for a contracted 3rd party customer service company, and can only deal with issues spelled out in the playbook they receive from ebay, which doesn't cover every issue.
You do still have recourse through ebay and that is to contact them through their social media outlets. (links below). The reps who monitor those sites are actual ebay employees who are familiar with the fake tracking scams and have the power to overrule the appeal and issue refunds.

You will need to have the ebay item number and seller's username write out what happened and try sending a screen shot of the whole USPS email including the from: headers. Sign the message with your ebay username and real one.
Since ebay does have issues with what info they can get from shippers due to their privacy policies. I suggest that you sign up for their Free enhanced tracking services.
USPS -Informed Delivery, FedEx - Delivery manager, UPS - My Choice
Those services provide information that can win an appeal, or a social media claim.

·1 year ago+1 to what @eburtonlab posted, it's unfortunate, but you have to be your own advocate in these false tracking situations as ebay is of no help. They see the same tracking info as you do, and judge accordingly. It sucks, but that's the reality.

·1 year agoIf tracking shows delivery, but nothing arrives, contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If you can obtain hard copy documentation of that the tracking does not correspond to a delivery to your address, contact eBay via social media and explain that you have a case of "false tracking" and you should be given the opportunity to provide your documentation to eBay via direct message. This is different than the usual "item not received" case which is handled automatically and which allows the seller to win by providing tracking that shows delivery.
You can avoid many issues entirely by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.
