Package delivered by amazon with gift receipt.
Had a item I ordered show up via Amazon with gift receipt. Seller sent me an invalid UPS tracking and had no idea that it was being delivered by Amazon. Ebay claims this does not violate terms and service.

路1 week agoWell, in most cases this is expected..if you buy a new mass produced item on eBay, it will be shipped by companies like Amazon or similar.. rules can exist but not entirely enforced鈥oo much profit involved..and in your particular case, most likely you overpaid for the item..buying directly from A would be cheaper..馃馃ぇ馃

OP1 week agoYes. Amazon took it much more seriously when I contacted them and reported it to them wanting pictures of the package. Ebay offered me full refund and as only a 10 dollar item.

路1 week agoAmazon took it seriously because a dropshipper who ships to his buyer is violating Prime membership rules and cheating Amazon of the shipping charges. As well as making you pay more than if you bought from Amazon.
There are few Ebay sellers who sell New in-production, brand name products, with warranty who can compete on price.
Knowing what the item sells for is your best defense.

路1 week agoIt may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

You need to quote to them their dropshipping rules. This is the pertinent section:
"However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay."

OP1 week agoI did but trying to get them to understand the issue esp with the language issue seemed impossible. Ebay says as long as it was delivered there is no issue.

路1 week agoYou can report the seller here. But don't expect to find out what action, if any, they take because of the report. This is not a high priority issue for them, as you've discovered.
