Out of stock item
Ordered an item said to be delivered Jan 22-28. Then received notice that it was "out of stock". They have already deposited my check. As the item no longer fits the situation I needed it for, I would like have my money refunded. Not able to reach seller. Order number 27-12574-28375. Please help. not sure where the number blu1282 is from.

·1 year agoIf you received a notice saying the order was cancelled because the seller was out of stock the refund is automatic.
If you received a marketing message saying the item you were looking at is currently sold out, but here are some other items you might like - that's not related to your order and it's out of stock because you bought the last one.
It would help if you came back to provide more details and answer questions asked by other responders so we can make sure you're getting advice relevant to your situation @blu1282 .

How were you able to send a check?
Was this actually an item which you found on eBay, or did you first find it on some other site, which then directed you to "purchase" it "by check" from someone on eBay?

·1 year agoThis reminded me a bit of the old old days when a seller would sometimes email me and say, my paypal's not working can you pay by bank transfer.
Has similar happened here?

@blu1282
You paid by sending a paper check?
If not, and you paid via eBay, and it is past the LAST estimated delivery date, go to your purchase history and from the dropdown menu select "I didn't receive it" and follow the prompts.
If the seller has "cancelled" the sale due to being out of stock, it triggers a refund to your payment source.
If for some reason you 'sent a check in the mail' your money is likely gone.

If you received a message saying the transaction is cancelled for out of stock you should receive a refund. Refunds are not instantaneous, they can take anywhere from 5-10 business days depending on your bank or credit card.
What I find curious, is how you were able to pay with a check. That sort of payment is only allowed for local pick up or certain categories.
Your order number is not viewable by anyone in this forum.

Did you order the item on this account?
If the item is out of stock, seller should cancel the order and refund.
If not, a day after the estimated delivery date Ebay gave you, open an Item Not Received case.
Go to your purchase history and click I didn't get it in the menu next to the item.
The seller will have 3 days to provide a tracking number showing it was delivered or refund.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

You won't find any ebay employees or 'agents' here. This is a member to member forum made up of buyers and sellers. Follow the advice already given in the previous posts, it's much more accurate and concise than what you'll get from an ebay customer service rep in any case.
