Ordered item from seller who has ordered it from somewhere else
i recently ordered an item from a seller in uk who has used Alliexpress to buy the item from and send it to me ,I ordered on the 4th sept and had a message from Alliexpress (not the seller ) to say order was on it's way. Although the tracking number has been uploaded by alliexpress evri say they are still waiting to receive item . Alliexpress are china based and i didn't think sellers were allowed to sell through another company like this .

·1 month agoI ran into this just this month. I always check feedback and seller's location. I want to support local small business here in the US. Seller said they were in Florida. Ordered the item. Was drop shipped from China took 2 weeks to get no tracking number ect. If I wanted to order from China I'd just use Aliexpress.

You have posted your concern on ebay.com the U.S. based site but are located in the U.K.. You should post about it on your home site's community https://community.ebay.co.uk/
Aliexpress is a retail marketplace, which means the seller can be reported to ebay but how you do that on the U.K. site may differ from the way we do it here. You would need the receipt received with the item and possibly a photo of the shipping label.
Since Evri's tracking does not show they have received the item once the last estimated delivery date has passed by one day, you can file an item not received dispute.

·1 month agoThey are not supposed to just hand your order to another retailer. That can use a real drop shipping service however. eBay does not seem to enforce that rule much. If it does not arrive on time you can file an item not received case.

Sellers are allowed to drop-ship if they follow certain rules about disclosure and have the items under contract, but not all sellers follow the rules as they should.
It may not be possible to always identify in advance those sellers who drop-ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop-shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items where it would not be profitable to use retail shipping, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon or Walmart, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site that exactly match many other similar listings, differences between registration location on the feedback page and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.
