    Order Marked as “Available” but Never Delivered – Request for Support Contact

    Hello,

    I want to share my extremely disappointing experience with eBay, hoping that this situation will be addressed promptly.

    On January 18, 2025, I placed an order for $826.85 (Order number 21-12585-39144) for a TAMRON 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD Model A058 for SONY E. In the system, it was marked as “available” with an estimated delivery window of February 13 – March 4, 2025. However, in reality, the item has never been delivered. I have not received any delivery confirmation, and the product has never physically reached me.

    It appears that eBay does not perform proper verification of sellers’ shipments and cannot guarantee that purchased items will actually be delivered. Unfortunately, this was my first and very unpleasant experience with such a company as eBay, and it raises serious concerns about buyer protection on the platform.

    Please let eBay Customer Support contact me directly to resolve this matter, either by issuing a full refund or by reshipping the item.

    However, I have little hope that anyone will pay attention to this message or take action. This experience has convinced me that eBay is not a trustworthy marketplace for purchases.

    Thank you for your time.
    Goodbye, eBay — one of the most disappointing companies I have ever dealt with.

    Sincerely,
    Anton Fesenko

    You had 30 days after the last estimated delivery date to open a case so around April 4th you forfeited that chance of a refund thru eBay.

    You let the seller string you along for several months when it could have been resolved in your favor long ago. You can blame ebay, but pretty much all other sites are going to have similar policies and ...protections...

    @anton.fesenko87 ,

    Didn't the $826.85 price seem a bit low for a lens that on average sells for $1,200 seem a bit low to you, even in Used or Refurbished condition?  That's one of the first signs of a scam. Another is an item having over an estimated 30 day delivery time frame.

      If you did open an Item Not Received (INR)  dispute and did not go back to to it within 30 days to ask ebay to step in, you allowed your Money Back Guarantee (MBG)  protection to lapse. That is not eBay's fault but yours for not reading the terms and time frames of the Guarantee.

    It doesn't matter what a seller tells you about an extended delivery date. The only date eBay goes by is the last estimated delivery date shown in the listing at the time of purchase. EBay will hold the seller to that date; had you opened an item not received case within 30 days of that date, then escalated it, you would have received a full refund.

    It seems that you have some confusion about eBay's Money Back Guarantee. You might want to read up on its provisions:

    If you'd gone to the order and opened a claim for non-receipt between March 5 and April 3, the seller would have had to respond with either a refund or tracking showing delivery and a signature. If the seller hadn't responded, you could go back to the claim 4 days later, ask ebay to step in and you would have received your $836.85 back.

    You had to do that by April 3 but at this point, you're 4 months too late.

    Ebay will not contact you directly. This is a community of your peers who answer questions and complaints you may have. I agree with the others your time has passed to do anything through Ebay. So you would be wasting your time calling them. My question to you is why did you wait 8 months? When you say "Goodbye, eBay — one of the most disappointing companies I have ever dealt with." I don't mean to offend you but majority of buyers would be on top of this matter very quickly if they feel there is a problem. They wouldn't be waiting around for a seller to ship an item or waiting on a tracking number for this long. Ebay gave you buyers protection and you didn't use it.

    I did not wait eight months to file a complaint — I had already submitted it earlier. Here on the forum, I am simply stating that my complaint was closed because they did not want to review it. Unfortunately, eBay’s customer support leaves much to be desired.

    Do you remember or have the date you submitted the complaint?

    It may be too late to see what tracking shows but it might show as "delivered" on your order.

    What does it say? If it says "delivered," it would have to have been shipped with a signature requirement.

    Did you buy the lens from a Japanese seller who had a listing of 3 of them but at this time, 2 have been sold? Have you tried emailing the seller?

    Although he's under no obligation to issue a refund or send you another, it doesn't hurt to ask.

    You really need to pay attention to your account, dates and deadlines.

    @kensgiftshop gave you accurate information.

    So at this point, the only alternative you can try is filing a dispute with your payment source.

    If you filed an INR within 30 days if the estimated delivery date and didn't hear anything, did you return to the case and ask Ebay to step in.

    You had 30 days after the last estimated delivery date to open an item not received case with eBay and you could have opened that case once the item was just one day overdue.

    Are you saying you actually DID open that case? If so, did you return to the case 4 days later and ask eBay to step in?

    What we are saying here is that you had protection from the eBay MBG, but you either failed to use it or used it wrong.  This can hardly be classified as eBay's fault.  The MBG is actually quite good in terms of offering protection for buyers.

    They have great buyer protection, but you have a certain amount of time to use it.

    The MBG is good for 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

    Since you waited to long, contact your payment source and see if they can help.

    In my case, delivery took more than 30 days, and the seller had informed me about the extended timeframe in advance. If the delivery time is initially stated as 40–45 days, eBay should take this into account instead of strictly applying the 30-day rule. Otherwise, it raises the question of why orders from sellers with such delivery times are accepted on the platform at all.

    30 days after the estimated delivery date is enough time to file an INR.
