No more eBay for me.

What is going on here. Recently ordered from two different sellers who ship via FedX. In both cases FedX showed I received the orders. But I didnâ€™t. In contacting FedX in both cases they said my tracking numbers did not match my name and address. So I assume I am out both the product and my payment. Other orders recently shipped via USPS received with no issues.

You will be out the product and payment if you keep insisting on filing an "Item Not Received" complaint when there is tracking associated with your order that states "delivered", even if it is fake. That is all eBay will consider unless you know what to do in these instances.

This has been going on here for over a decade, and there is still no published policy or procedure on eBay to help victims of this scam. For years, eBay wanted a "written document" (no email) from the carrier attesting to the fact that the parcel was not addressed or intended for you in the first place. It likely was "required" since it was basically impossible to obtain, thus supposedly letting eBay off the hook for reimbursement. That is not always the case now, but it is important to know what NOT to do if you find yourself in this situation.

Your issue is not due to seller using FedEx. FedEx has to adhere to the USPS postal policies dealing with privacy. Which means they cannot disclose a shipping label's address to anyone but the recipient or the sender. They did tell you that the tracking number you received was not addressed to you which is as far as they can go.

FYI Both the USPS and UPS will give you the same trouble in these situations and while all 3 companies will send you emails stating the tracking number you received was not addressed to you. eBay will not accept them because emails can be faked. They will only accept hard copy notes.

What can help you with fake tracking issues is signing up to use the Free enhanced tracking services: USPS Informed Delivery, FedEx Delivery Manager, UPS My Choice.

When signing up to receive the information you need to use the same email address that you get ebay notifications through.

Each has info that can be used when contacting ebay through their social media outlets. There are link to those in the first link @pikabo-icu posted.

What you can do in advance is to check the feedback profile of each seller you intend to buy from. Since the vast majority of fake tracking scams happen with China based sellers avoid buying from them. Since many of them registered in the U.S. it can be hard to weed them out, but open the link below to see what I look for that gives them away, and how to get to the feedback profile info you need. Then open your own profile and check out the profiles of the last 5 sellers you have bought from.

When I wrote that reply ebay had stopped giving us 1 click links to classic feedback pages.

They have since made it a bit easier, On a listing page in the upper right just under the seller's username, is their feedback percentage. (if the seller is a high volume one with less than a 98.6% rating move on and do not buy from them). Below is what one of your seller's percentage is.

That one is registered in Canada where many China based seller's are registered.

Their percentage can be clicked on, which opens a popup with the See All feedback button click on it. when the new page opens click on the Switch Back to Classic View button. The classic view has a box with the 3 types of feedback a seller can receive and you can click on the numbers of neutral and negative feedback a seller has received to read only those comments.

A couple of the ones you bought from recently have mentions of items not being delivered when tracking showed Delivered. 1 comment could be a mistake on a seller's part but 2 or more is a red flag.

One of 2 things happened, either FedEx misdelivered the packages or you are a victim of a fake tracking scam.

Things is; it's very odd to be a victim of that from 2 different sellers at the same time.

Did these both deliver on the same day?

Can you get a statement from Fedex that they did not address the package labels to your address?

It takes a bit of work but your money can be recovered.

Thanks Pica, appreciate your response. Dealing with FedX was a nightmare. And I agree it is more than odd this occurred from two different sellers at the same time. Plus the delivery date from both sellers were the same time. FedX tells me it is an eBay problem while eBay says it is a FedX problem. I donâ€™t mind being out the money but wanted the product as it has been discontinued from the manufacturer. Maybe I will just stick with sellers that use USPS.

Edit: Pleasantly surprised one seller promptly issued me a refund. He is restoring my faith in eBay.

Also eBay is a go between when the sellers wont fix it. eBay will always take care of a buyer until they wont or its abused. Sounds more like seller, fedex problems
