"No Longer Available" items in Watchlist - any way to see what they were?
I was going through my (very large) Watchlist for the first time in a while and noticed several items that had been fully deleted with a blank placeholder that only reads "Item ID (string of numbers) is no longer available." This is as opposed to what I'm used to seeing, which is the item listing with a notice saying that the item has been sold or is out of stock or whatever. Now, I put things in my Watchlist for a reason, and that was to keep track of them. Is there any way to find out what these items were? You'd think Ebay would be happy to tell you, in order for you to find a replacement.

OP2 years agoFollow up to this, I was able to resolve the problem by getting on a chat with a very helpful Ebay worker who was able to tell me the titles of each of the deleted items (because they weren't actually deleted in their system, they just were no longer being displayed publicly). I'm rather surprised that this worker was willing to take the time to help me out given that most Ebay customer service workers tend to do the bare minimum.

·2 years agoAt the top of your watchlist there is a choice of active and ended. If not in your ended list then they were over 30 days old and gone forever.

·2 years agoVery possibly the item sold elsewhere and was taken down and deleted by the seller.

When a listing has ended, its information is only available for up to 90 days after that. If you open your feedback profile change the the sort order from most relevant to most recent, and scroll down the page, you will see:
"Detailed item information is not available for the following items because the feedback is over 90 days old".
The same thing happens in your watch list for items there was only one of.

I am of the opinion Ebay no longer cares as much about what the customer (buyers) may desire/want
effectively becoming a choice for Buyers of tolerate or leave ?

OP2 years agoWell yes, the model for most big companies these days is "what's the absolute minimum that we need to do before people just leave".

·2 years agoThat ignores the fact that in its 28 years of existence eBay has never retained full listings for longer than 90 days. So obviously it's not making people leave in droves.
