No Longer Able to Submit Eligible Purchases to eBay Vault
Now that essentially all auctions are set to auto-pay, it it impossible to click the submit to eBay Vault option at checkout. Is there a workaround or an address I can use to have eligible purchases go directly to the eBay vault?
As a NYC resident, I pay a ~9% sales tax + a 13% selling fee to eBay when items don't go the Vault. If this does not get resolved, I think my experiment of trying to be a part-time baseball card dealer is over. eBay Vault was the only way I was able to make this business somewhat feasible as a NYC resident.

·1 year agoHaving the same issue. Does the PSA Vault have a physical address that could be turned on before bidding or making an offer to an auction?

This is an old thread from 2023. It will be locked by the mods. You may wish to start a new one, but I don't think eBay has the Vault anymore.

I thought eBay sold it to PSA. So it is the same concept, but now owned by eBay anymore.

·1 year agoWould love to know a way also, just got hit with a card I didn't want coming to the house as well due to Auto pay/selling excepting an offer overnight

·2 years agoYou can ask the sellers to turn off the auto-pay requirement for auctions in their buyer requirements page.
Many sellers aren't aware that this is automatically set to "on" as the default, so they need to turn it off if they don't want it. However, some sellers may not be willing to do that, if they are afraid of non-paying bidders.

OP2 years agoIs there a way to if the seller has auto-pay enabled or not? Maybe it would help if I could search for auctions that have this disabled.
I haven't had any problems until this week and then surprise, I have 2 cards I didn't want in my personal collection showing up at my house and paying NYC/NYS sales tax.

Not that I'm aware of from just viewing the listings.

·2 years agoI think you would have to remove your approved payment method from your eBay account first. then place a bid and see if you are asked to provide an automatic payment method before it will accept the bid. You might have to keep removing it after each purchase, so keep checking if you decide to do this.

then begin to make an offer or place a bid without going all the way, to check if the seller (unknowingly) requires auto-pay.
