No help, or confusing help pages from eBay.
Hi all, this is related to the "so-called" help from eBay regarding faulty equipment from sellers!!!! This is just one of many instances for me, that eBay makes it so difficult to finalize a transaction, that you just give up!!!
I recently (one of many products) had a faulty USB cord which was still under a ONE year warranty. After contacting the Supplier, all I received from them was stalling and also that a "30 return period was over" I explained to them over and over again that it was NOT a return, it was a warranty replacement!!!! This went on for weeks, and I have still NO answer.
I then tried to contact eBay for help, well that was a waste of time!!!! They used to have a phone number, but that is now gone. Their automated help is a joke. You put in your Order No: and it doesn't find it!!!! You try other avenues, and you just go around in circles!!! eBay was such a good business, that it was a pleasure to deal with them!!! Because they would actually help you. Those day's seem to be gone!!! I think my purchasing will be gone as well!!!

·1 year agoEbay doesn't make it difficult. You are given 30 days by Ebay and that's it. That's policy. 1 year warranty is through manufacture only. The seller is not required nor obligated to do anything.

"After contacting the Supplier, all I received from them was stalling and also that a "30 return period was over".
It was you who seems to have let the seller stall you past the point of not being able to file a dispute. When you first contacted the seller and their reply was not an instant return the item for a refund, all you had to do was go to your purchase history, click on More Actions > Return Item > Doesn't work. The seller would have had 3 days to reply by sending you a return shipping label or asking for the amount needed to return the item, so they could pay for it if they were foreign based. If they did none of those things on day 4 you could ask ebay to step in and a refund would have been processed. In most cases ebay does not need to be contacted these days, all you have to do is follow the terms and time frames of the Money Back Guarantee (MBG).
FYI, You are located in Australia, but have posted your concern on the U.S. based site's community (ebay.com). Most info we give out on this site will be the same members on the Australian based site's community (ebay.com.au) (ebay.com) would give you, but how you have to get some information to help you, might be different.
You also need to vet your seller's more carefully. You do that by checking a seller's feedback profile. On that page look at the seller's country of registry, and click on the numbers of received neutral and negative feedback they have received to read only those comments. One of your most recent purchases was from a China based seller who has a 94% rating, which in and of itself says the seller isn't trustworthy. Chinese sellers are known for using what ever tactics they can get away with to prevent people from filing disputes, getting refunds and being able to leave non positive feedback.

·1 year agoMany manufacturers will not honor their warranty if the seller is not an authorized reseller of the products.
Many Ebay sellers are not authorized resellers.
Other marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart do not allow many categories and brands of products to be listed by other than manufacturer authorized resellers.
Beyond 30 days after receipt, Ebay makes not representations of any guarantee.
If you have not contacted the manufacturer of the product, you should contact them, not Ebay. You might find they will honor their warrantee or not.
If this is a product which the manufacturer requires the reseller to handle warranty replacements, short of a lawsuit you may have no recourse.

·1 year agoeBay has a 30 day window for Money Back Guarantee claims.
If a seller offers a warranty, eBay has no way to enforce that. You have to deal directly with the seller.
If this was a manufacturer warranty, those are generally void when the item is sold through third party sellers on marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, Walmart, etc. You typically have to buy direct from a large retailer for those warranties to be valid.
If this was a SquareTrade warranty that you added on to your purchase, then you need to contact All State using the number in your order confirmation email for the warranty.
