New eBay bot scam?
So I bought a computer monitor from this seller that is only a few hours away. There store was full of used electronic stuff.
It took them like a week to provide a tracking number from UPS. It shows they dropped it off UPS. But it hasn't moved and is now over 3 weeks behind Ebay's estimated arrival time.
I contacted the seller and it took a few days to respond and they said they dropped it off.
Well I filed a not received claim and within seconds my order shows a second tracking number was created, like faster then any human could do it.
There store is also full of a bunch of expensive generic items with no descriptions now.
I think this could be a bot managed scam that tries to string you along past the refund date by giving fake tracking numbers.
I really hope eBay doesn't see these numbers and think they are real.

·1 year agoIf it's 3 weeks past its estimated delivery date, why not open an item not received case?
You know you have only FOUR WEEKS to do that with eBay, right? Just 30 days past the EDD.

·1 year agoHe did start the INR, but the seller added a scam tracking number that probably is on a padded envelope containing a keychain.

OP1 year agoYeah unfortunately I already started the "Package Not received" process before I posted here.
Now the second tracking number they made shows the package out for delivery today. I did call ebay customer support and have them notate the fact the weight of the package is way to lite, and the fact they automatically generated the second tracking number within seconds of me filing the claim.

·1 year agoI would not be shocker. eBay has a HUGE bot scam buyers problem right now.
And of course eBay does nothing about it.

Well best to be prepared, just in case so I'm going to give you a couple of links to threads about that issue.
Once the last day of delivery has passed, you can start thinking about a claim but do read through this info because if they use a fake tracking number, filing an Item not received case will get shut down.
