Never buy anything from Indian sellers!
I ordered and paid for an item from an Indian seller but never received the item. I made a complaint with eBay. The seller promised me that I will get it and asked me to close the case. I trusted them and closed the case. Then I never got it and this seller disappeared. I contacted eBay again but they said I closed the case myself and can’t be opened. Of course eBay is ridiculous. I have been using eBay since 2001 and I will close my account permanently. I will never trust or buy anything from any Indian seller again.

·6 months agoIf you paid by credit card, contact your card company. They cover you for 6 months to a year depending on their policy. It's not any seller you have to avoid. Just never close a case once you open it.

There are about as many living in China and they the Indians learned from that Govt. how to scam people. The Chicom Govt. also wrecked the Sri Lankan seller's reputation. They've made it easy for them to source products made in China with mostly prefilled listing info often deceiving, and I'd bet dollars to donuts they passed on their info on how to scam people using tactics they've used for a long time.

·6 months agoI do not buy from anyone who has 786 somewhere in their name, Bolton, Blackburn, Leicester, Birmingham, East London. or from someone who has al, or aha in their user name. Everytime I have purchases from them the item is fake, they threaten me if I leave negative feedback

·6 months agoYour reasoning for not buying from some sellers is a little skewed, but if it works for you, ok.
They threaten you if you leave negative FB? What can they do to you? And you can report threats to eBay.
Also, if you're receiving fake items, are you not opening not as described cases? (Presuming that works the same way i the UK.)

·10 months agoYou went for a drive in the middle of the night in a city you weren't familiar with and you want to blame the car manufacturer. The seller tricked you into closing the claim...you needed to know not to do that in order to protect yourself. This can happen from any seller from any country.
As said, go to your payment source and file a charge back.

I personally don’t care where you shop … so close your eBay account if you wish. It's your decision alone.
What I wanted to emphasize is that scammers can come from ANY country … and can be of ANY nationality, religion, race or gender.

You don't have to go to that extreme. The recommendation to vet your sellers better is well taken. If you're unwilling or unable to do that, there's another safeguard you could employ . . . namely: If you're buying from an Asian seller, do not spend more money than you would be comfortable just setting on fire and watching it burn.

·10 months agoEbay isn't ridiculous you made a mistake trusting the seller. You should have known your rights. If you would have kept the case going you could have gotten your money back. The seller tricked you to close the case. Now you are no longer eligible. That isn't Ebay's fault. I agree only buy within the United States.

·10 months agoPerhaps all you need to do is not buy from sketchy foreign sellers.
India, China, Pakistan....in fact almost all Mid Eastern, African, Asian and most of Latin America and Europe are on my "don't buy from these countries" list. There are few exceptions.
I only buy non domestic if I absolutely can't find the item domestically after searching for an extended time. Even then. I consider it "A shot in the dark" and won't spend much.
Since 2001. There's this thing called eBay's Money Back Guarantee nowdays. Do yourself a favor and become familiar with it.
No need to cut & run just be pickier about sellers you'll buy from..........................

·10 months agoGo to your payment source or credit card. And don't blame eBay. You closed the case. Out of their hands when you do that.
