Need eBay to Help
I bought an item, and the seller never sent it to me. Then, when I asked about it, they told me that they sold it on another website. When I asked for a refund, they said they could not do that even though they took my money. I am trying to contact eBay. I need to talk to a human, not the chat option. How do I get them involved or send them an email?

·3 years agoBY all means take advantage of BUYER PROTECTION. Fill a *not received* after the estimated delivery date. I do not like the lack of phone help either nor waiting/hoping someone will return the call when your money is involved so I feel your concern!

There is no need to talk to anyone. The item not received (INR) process is automated, You do have to wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed by 1 day though. Once you file a dispute the seller will have 3 days to respond with proof that they shipped, a tracking number with an acceptance scan, or start the refund process. If they don't reply on day 4 you ask ebay to step in.
The seller will get a defect on their account from ebay, and have to pay the final value fees for the transaction. If they are a new seller they will have the hold on their payments for a longer period as well.

·3 years agoIf you've never read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers, now would be the time to do so.

OP3 years agoThank you! I was able to read many articles, including that one. I wanted to try to speak to someone. Thankfully, when I used the chat feature, I could have a link to click to speak to someone eventually.

·3 years agoFor future reference, eBay's MBG for buyers offers help without the buyer needing to contact or speak to a CS rep. Just follow the directions given herein. Why make it more complicated than it needs to be?

As ms.rodriguez wrote: You probably bought from a new seller. It is not unusual for them to list things on more than one site, and to run into issues with their first few sales. Your seller may have a fair number of feedback and a 100% rating, but it could all be for buying at least in the last year. Because of that, and other issues, you should always check the feedback profile page of each seller you intend to buy from before making any purchases. Never go by a seller's feedback percentage alone.
As for leaving feedback, since you have not left any in over a year, leaving a negative now might affect your ability to bid on auctions or make offers. If you only buy on ebay you will always have a 100% rating, because buyers cannot receive non-positive feedback. So sellers tend to be wary of buyers who only leave feedback when there is a problem.

·3 years agoDo what the other person said. I bet that your seller is new and he thinks that he does not have the money to refund because Ebay is holding his funds. Anyway, open the case. Follow the prompts. Escalate the case on the date that ebay tells you to return to the case if there is refund. After you get your refund, please go to this sellers page and give him a well deserved negative to warn others. Do NOT mention refund.
Bad seller. He sold my item elsewhere. Avoid this seller. Leave the comment just like I wrote. It will make potential buyers wonder if you were refunded or not and they will not buy. Sellers like this do NOT belong here.

·3 years agoIf you don't get a package from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. The 30 day window to file runs from that estimated delivery date, not the date or payment or what the carrier says the estimate is (and the date on your Purchase History might be the latter rather than the former after the carrier makes an estimate). Then, if you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.

·3 years agoUnder "My eBay" pull up your "Purchase History" and scroll down to the item you didn't receive. Click the "More Actions" button and choose "I didn't receive it" (assuming it's been less than 30 days). This will open a case and the buyer will have to refund. Ebay reps also review your chat history with the seller when you open a case, so they'll see that the seller admitted selling the item on another platform.
