My last purchase, and I'm done with eBay.
Just earned 10th Anniversary badge, perfectly on the day when eBay scammed me.
Seller only sent a partial order, and denies it. I filed a claim, and eBay closed it out, stating:
"We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase. However, the seller provided tracking information that shows the item was delivered to your address."
Submitting my VERY first chargeback with the bank now. I never did this before, going to see how it works out. I've been with my bank for over 20 years, and I believe I've been a good customer so far for them to consider my point.

·4 months agoIf you received only part of your order, you had 30 days after delivery to open an item not as described case.
Instead you apparently opened an item not received case. eBay checked and showed tracking showing delivery which is the reason your case was denied. The difference is, I believe, spelled out in the MBG.

·4 months agoYou filed the WRONG dispute.
You needed to file a Return Request due to "doesn't match description" since you only received part of your order. You mistakenly filed a Refund Request which is filed when an item is not received. Since you did receive SOMETHING, your refund request was denied since the seller proved delivery via tracking information. This was not Ebay's fault.
Now that you have turned to your bank for resolution, you can no longer ask Ebay to assist you, which they would have done.
(By the way, the "10 year anniversary badge" is from the Community and is not related to your Ebay account of 14 years of longevity)

·4 months agoA problem with an eBay order is neither. And most of us learned after we matured sufficiently that f*bombs aren't the best way to influence people. Grown-ups actually know how to complain without using them, and usually get better results.

Name calling someone who is giving the OP helpful information? Not a good look in my view.

Yes, that was a very bad shot at a forum member ... I'm glad it's gone.

·4 months ago@cello_qwerty I am sorry you had issues with a seller, but it is nobody's fault here that you had an issue. We are not eBay, nor are we your seller. It is not our fault you don't know how to do things, yet you boast you have been on here ten years. Don't boast like you know everything, then snark off upset when someone else calls you out. You messed up. You opened the wrong case. It is fixable, but lose the attitude or go ahead and leave. I assure you most sellers don't want to deal with you if you are going to act that way towards people who help you. If you think you can't get screwed over elsewhere, you are sadly mistaken. There is risk no matter where you buy online, either accept it or stick to brick-and-morter stores.
Assuming your order was delivered after April 27, go to your orders. You will see the option to open a RETURN. Click that. eBay will ask why you are returning the item. From the list select MISSING PARTS OR PIECES. You may need to provide a photo. A simple picture of what you did recieve is acceptable.
The seller is responsible for either refunding you or sending you a shipping label to return what you did get, and then refunding you. If the seller does not do either of those things, go back to that return case in three business days. If you open today, that will be Tuesday, June 2.
If you go your bank and open a case with them, eBay will be completely out of the picture and the seller won't have to do any of that as you will have waived eBay's Money Back Guarantee. Your bank may very well side with you as a one-time courtsey, but if it were me I would exhaust all options with eBay first unless we are going about an expensive item. If we are talking about a $50 item, work it out through eBay first.

I assure you, I'm mad because I've been an EXCELLENT customer all around. Imagine a person in 10 years, and it is my very first situation I really needed to vent about.
How hard is that to understand? I had no issues with sellers, they are responsive, and I had no issues returning or getting orders fixed. Over 10 years.
I don't need your mentor tone, I don't need a random stranger seeing me on single worst day teach me manners. Okay? You don't see me day to day to make any judgements about me.
You will see the option to open a RETURN.

So.
I think there is nothing more to be said. The only thing to take away from this that is constructive, is how you handle a return like this. The method you had used failed because the package was delivered. As noted by others, you should have used the parts missing option instead.

·4 months agoYou came at someone who was trying to help you and refer you to something you either didn't know about or had forgotten about.
There are good people here who volunteer their time to help buyers and sellers alike because they know things regarding eBay can be confusing. I would hope that after ten years of not having any issues, you would see that this is the exception and not the rule and would want to navigate through it so you dont' feel you have to shop elsewhere.
You are having a bad day. Maybe your seller was having a bad day or a bad season. Nobody knows. You are owed your money back and we can all agree on that. I hope you get it, whichever way you go about it.
I hope your day/week gets better. Please come back and let us know what happens because knowing the conclusion of a probelm is what ensures we are giving people who come here later with the same problem the best advice possible. ✌️

"I don't need a random stranger seeing me on single worst day teach me manners. Okay? You don't see me day to day to make any judgements about me."
And yet you -- another "random stranger" -- feels entitled to vent upon individuals who are only attempting to assist you.
And -- by the way -- if this is your "single worst day" -- thank your lucky stars. Everybody with whom I'm acquainted has had far many more "worst days" -- and, fortunately, most of them have survived.
Good luck.

It will cost the seller more than if you spent the time trying to get Ebay to act, and succeeded.

You opened the wrong case. An item not received case applies when you receive nothing. You needed to open a return case for 'missing parts or pieces'. You can still do that, but not if you've already started a chargeback. And perhaps after 10 years you might want to familiarize yourself with eBay's Money Back Guarantee:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210

OP4 months agoFYI, there wasn't an option to select 'missing parts or pieces'.
Mind sharing screenshots where can it be done? Poor UX for this isn't my problem.
