My dropshipper story.
I recently bought a food item on ebay.
I don't normally buy groceries on ebay, but this was so cheap I coudn't resist.
4 cans for less money than I can buy 1 can for here, plus free shipping.
The package showed up today in a Wal*Mart box via FedEx.
I got exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted to pay in a timely manner so I'm not upset about the dropship.
I just wish they got my name correct.
My new name is Jose Martinez ... and I'm not even Hispanic.

Isn't it against the law in Hawaii to buy any other canned meat product than the official state food SPAM?
Martha Davis isn't a bad singer at all, but IMO some songs are so iconic, they should be left to the original performer.

OP5 months agoI didn't mention what the item was because I was a little embarrassed.
I know a lot of people that will not eat this stuff but hey, I was raised on it.
My friends call it "cat food". 😉

My grandfather loved it & always had it in the ice box.

·5 months agoMy Grandfather had his Underwood Ham & his Braunschweiger.
Grandma had her jar of Pickled Pigs Feet.
Grocers in general carried all sorts of secondary meat scraps (kidney, liver, tripe, et al.) that were quite common as people who were not wealthy often cooked that much more than the roasts/etc.
Meat was for special occasions if you could afford it.
My Grandmother cooked kidneys frequently.
Nowadays, you have to go to a specialty market to find these things. Many major grocers no longer stock it.
I don't know whether that points to greater affluence in the population in general or if it is a byproduct of butchers no longer working whole/half sides from the point of purchase.
Butchers now get the meats already broken down. They trim & slice like it's bologna when railed sides of beef used to be commonly worked in store.

·5 months agoNothing wrong with liver (but I only like lamb or calf liver).
As a kid I ate tongue and kidneys and tripe as well (not to mention brains) until I was old enough to figure out what they were.

·5 months agoI used to eat that stuff when I was young; I liked it on bread with mayonaise. Haven't thought about or had any for decades but I might go buy a can just to relive old memories. Although if it's $5.49 a can, I might have to think about it for a while.

I call it 'poor man's pate'

·5 months agoSounds like that is your seller's wally account name. They are not supposed to do that. They are allowed to use a real drop shipper but can't just hand your order off to another seller like that.

·5 months agoOr Mr. Jose is the seller of the product who utilized his credentials with an online Walmart+ account to purchase the item with @inhawaii funds to dropship?

Why would Jose Martinez be listing Walmart items on eBay cheaper than Walmart sells them for and then buying those same items at Walmart under his own name and having them shipped to his eBay buyers at a loss?
I can think of a couple of possible scenarios that actually make sense for a legitimate eBay seller willing to lose money in a hurry, but both of those scenarios taken together are still much less likely than triangulation fraud using stolen credit cards.

·5 months ago@inhawaii ,
You do realize that the seller seriously violated ebay's policy concerning retail arbitrage, don't you? Unlike the sellers who use Amazon's FBA or MCF services to ship items they own using Amazon to ship the items for them.
Your seller used your money to purchase the items from Walmart, AFTER you paid for them.

·5 months agoYour seller used [a credit card number stolen from Jose Martinez] to purchase the items from Walmart, AFTER you paid for them.
Much more likely.
Which may be a problem for @inhawaii when placing a legitimate Walmart order at some point in the future, if Walmart makes the connection between a card that was reported stolen and the address where the refunded order was shipped.

I knew there was something else I needed to post about the transaction yesterday, but I was in a rush. Thanks for covering it.

Probably reporting the seller directly, here:
