Multiple items with similar description listing, are these the same seller with multiple accounts?
Not sure if I am allowed to post links to the listings, am I? I'll update this post with the links if so.
I was looking at 1914 model Xbox controllers and I ran into multiple listings from different sellers that are suspiciously similar. The controllers themselves are physically different, but they were all photographed on the same stand, from similar angles, and the descriptions for all of them are formatted in the exact same way with the same colors, titles, tables, etc, and are selling for the same price. Two of the listings even have corrupted images uploaded. Is this a standard template someone can use or could these be the same seller with multiple accounts?
Even weirder, those display stands all have a seller's logo on them, but none of the sellers use that logo on their profile image. I did run into a seller with that same logo as I was looking through listings, yet, that one does NOT appear to use the same description format as those others. In fact, it has nothing written under the description at all.

·1 year agoFrom semi-daily review of my main collecting interests, I am convinced one of the canadian postcard sellers lists the same unsellable cards under multiple pricing and shipping schemes and constantly ends and relists the same 40-50 cards nearly daily and been doing it for years....
From talking to other collectors, I know I'm not the only person who looks at their main interests daily for the new stuff! This seller's churn is a clot. Everyday I have to sift through the same stuff, but I can't exclude a seller because they keep shifting it to a different seller name...it seems like a lot of work for something that hasn't sold in years.

Many sellers use stock photos provided by Mfrs. in their listings. There is nothing wrong with that unless they are using them for pre-owned / used items. Unfortunately, in that category of items there are a lot of poorly described and counterfeit items listed.
You need to check the feedback profile of any seller you intend to buy from these days. Sellers using stock photos and Mfr's. ad info in place of a real description should be avoided. Especially if their feedback percentage is below 98.6% but never go by a feedback percentage alone.

OP1 year agoThey are not the same exact photos, nor are they stock photos. The items in the photos are clearly physically different items, they were all just taken with the same stand and in the exact same style, a stand which bears the logo of a completely different seller. They all have the exact same formatting and style in their description as well.

·1 year agoLooks like they are connected to a Shopify store, so could be the same seller with multiple accounts or sellers dropshipping from the Shopify store.
