Money back guarantee
I have been an eBay customer for many years and just found out that an item I purchased and did not receive is not covered by the eBay customer guarantee. How can I determine if an item I wish to purchase is covered? I will not purchase another item without knowing. The seller just walks away with my money!! This is so unfair to me and the reputation of eBay. How can I tell when the item being sold is covered by the guarantee?

·2 years agoI would add that you need to better vet the sellers you buy from. This seller has a 93.6% feedback rating, with 15 negs in the last month alone. That's not a good average.

·2 years agoHi @kinbki_8070 . If it was item # 155903973625 the listing did qualify for the Money Back Guarantee (MBG), however the MBG has a time limit.
According to the feedback you left, you waited 2 months for the item to arrive. MBG window is 30 days from the estimated delivery date.
At this point you would have to file a payment dispute through your financial institution used to make the purchase (credit card, bank, PayPal, etc).
The purchase was made Dec 28. Credit cards have to offer a minimum 60 day window for filing a dispute on items not received, and you're still within that window.
Here's a link to the MBG policy for future reference:

OP2 years agoThanks for informing me. It was my fault, was giving seller extra time due to holidays. I will not do business with seller again and in the future will pay closer attention to when the ship date is supposed to be. If you look at this transaction, it says it was shipped which was not true, so seller misled me with this information. I will take it on the chin, but not be happy. I trust sellers and eBay but clearly my fault for giving extra time.

to add to kensgift, and kathiec good info..................
sometimes a seller will purposely list in a category that is not covered by the MBG to scam a buyer.
Post the listing # here, and someone will guide you to a process that "MAY" provide resolution if that is the case

·2 years agoThere are very few categories that aren't covered by the MBG. To tell if a listing is covered look under the payment methods on the listing page. If it's covered it will say "Shop with confidence" followed by "eBay Money Back Guarantee" with a link to the policy.

·2 years agoThe listing will tell you if it's covered by the MBG.
There are a few categories that are not covered by the MBG.
If it's been longer then 30 days after the estimated delivery date, the MBG has expired.

·2 years agoItem is "covered by guarantee".
You have 30 days to open a claim on the "estimated date of delivery" which is on the item you have purchased.
If you waited longer than 30 days then that is why it is not covered.
