Misrepresentation wrt Country of Origin Vent
I have noticed like others, than items that I want to purchase from North American fairly regularly end up shipping from China/when they do ship from the US it becomes obvious this is a product from China. First obvious problem shipping time/second is much more annoying problem/main reason I purchase from North America. Bought 2 electronic items for my car/both were 'shipped' from the US, the items arrive okay, but as I am preparing to install the items it becomes clear the instructions of are inadequate (useless)/obviously a lousey English translation from Chinese, of instructions that are garbage in the first place and forget about customer support.

·9 months agoPoorly translated instructions aren't a new phenomenon. I remember back in the 70s my brother bought a new Datsun (this was the pre-Nissan days) pickup truck. He said it looked like the owner's manual had been translated from Japanese to German to English. It was an indecipherable mess.

·9 months ago@kathiec That was the case with my Datsun 510 which I bought new in 1969.

Ships from the US does not mean made in the US.
Many sellers do not fill in the country of origin field in the item specifics when the category has one.
Perhaps it should be a mandatory field, but some Ebay sellers will enter incorrect information, they often do for any field.

·9 months agoHi @ca_newi
I have found that items I purchase from my local stores sometimes have ‘instructions’ that appear to be have been written by a drunken chipmunk. 😋
What I do is Google the instructions … and try to find a YouTube video that demonstrates the installation. [There are YouTube videos of just about everything.]
If I discover I’ve purchased a product that is being shipped from overseas despite being listed as located within the US … I file an ‘item not received’ dispute as soon as the Estimated Delivery Date arrives.

·9 months agoYou bring up a complaint which is very common around here. What you can do is click on the sellers profile and most likely you will see location China. That gives you an idea that the item is coming from China. Also review feedback. Customer support will not do anything. You have a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are unhappy with the item return it.
