Massive number of fake sellers popping up from India and Israel that are dropshipping from Amazon
So I found this ring from Israel or India that lie that their item is in the USA but their account is actually in Israel/India and/or Indonesia.
The reason I caught on was that I placed an order for an item that the title read 12 units but the seller sent from an Amazon drop ship order 6 units, then I bought from a totally different seller the same item 12 units and also got 6. Then I realized its the same seller using 2 accounts.
Returned both items and in both items the seller responded with the name "Lisa" on two separate accounts. Both were returned to different states nothing matching the item location.
What they do is that they have 0 inventory and are actually in Israel or India and they drop ship orders from Amazon sellers, copying the Amazon image and title and description. They jack up the price 10-30% from Amazon and make money off volume of sales without having any inventory.
When they run into mistakes like my orders, they are easily exposed. When you eBay search those items, you then find all the same type of seller but different ID's, usually about 30 different sellers per that Amazon item. They do this in case one account gets bad feedback or gets caught by eBay, they then abandon it and move to the other accounts. I believe they are run by the same org. in Israel or India.
The scary part is that a law enforcement person told me that these sellers could be those telemarketing phone call scammers that call elderly people and asks them to pay them in gift cards. They could be using all those Amazon gift cards into an Amazon account then using that to buy the merchandise that gets send to the eBay buyer at a 10-30% markup. Its a form of money laundering turning the gift cards into money.
What would be interesting is for eBay to expose this ring once and for all via where they are transferring the money into their accounts.
Now eBay states that drop shipping is allowed but not how these people are doing it, they are just buying merchandise from various (and random) Amazon sellers and have no connection or work with these companies. Their listings give them away, they have over 500 unique items all from Amazon and there is no way they have a deal with 500 different sellers, some are exclusive to just Amazon.
I don't know why eBay or Amazon hasn't caught on to this scam already. Well I kinda know why but you get the point.
These sellers should not be misrepresenting that they are in the USA with the item and their account is not in the USA.
Ive seen some Chinese accounts with actual warehouses in California and that's set up legit. They send their merchandise to the California warehouse to fulfill for them -- that is under eBay rules to do that. But this ring from Israel/India are just drop shipping from various Amazon sellers.
Like one item I bought from this ring, the item was in Arizona but it was shipped from Georgia. When I returned the item, I let that Amazon seller know what that eBay seller is doing with his merchandise. That seller in Georgia has no agreement with that seller that sold me his item on eBay. So that's how I started to figure this out.
I have a full list of over 125 sellers from Israel and/or India/Indonesia already that are doing this. But you can also find out who they are by searching one item they are selling in the search bar. That will pull up all those sellers. Its the same seller with many different ID's. Its crazy. The only good thing eBay has done was honestly tell us where they are at in their About Me page.
For example search for:
These guys find these items, copy them from Amazon, raise the price about $5-$10 and then drop ship from their Amazon store, not having to store or ship anything on their end.

There are quite a few sellers on ebay that have Amazon stores and use Amazon's Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) system, which is just like buying from any seller who uses a Product source for drop shipping. Which is totally acceptable to both eBay and Amazon. What is not acceptable is a seller listing an item then using your funds to buy it elsewhere. If you received a gift receipt in one of the Amazon packages then the person violated both ebay and Amazons' rules. There is no law anywhere that says the price they list an item for on Amazon, has to be the same for the one they list on eBay.
Checking a seller's feedback profile page to look at their country of registry before buying from them is a way to avoid these issues.
Most chinese sellers are drop shippers, a few have warehouses in the U.S. that are shared with other sellers, but even the ones shipping from China mostly drop ship. That's why you see so many of the same items using the same photos and usually the same price.
The only time Item Location is important is if it is necessary to file a dispute. If the seller wants to have an item supposedly located in the U.S. shipped to an address in China, you can report the item location misrepresentation.
