Lost Package and Missing Seller on eBay - What Are My Options?
Summary: kuus_93 shared a troubling experience with a missing package on eBay, where the seller's account vanished and eBay favored the seller in a dispute. mudshark61369 responded by explaining the complexities involved with international tracking and advised on appealing the decision, suggesting checking tracking details and possibly filing a dispute under different criteria if applicable. mudshark61369 also mentioned differences in regional eBay sites and offered a potential strategy to seek a refund.
I recently encountered a troubling issue while buying on eBay. I ordered multiple items from a seller. One package arrived via Omniva, but the other, supposedly delivered by Yunexpress, never showed up. Just as strange, the seller's account disappeared when I attempted to reach out for clarification. Ebay's decision seemed to favor the seller despite these issues. Has anyone experienced a similar situation where eBay didn’t side with them in a dispute? How did you handle it, and were you able to recover your expenses? Please share your experiences and suggestions on navigating this kind of scenario.

We cannot give you very good advice, because this is ebay's U.S. based site's community, and you are located in Estonia and our postal privacy laws are probably different. If I'm not mistaken Omniva took over from Eesti Post as your National carrier.
The second item was Sent via Yunexpress which based in China and delivers to many countries from there, where items are handed over to regional partners in your country like Itella/SmartPost or DPD Estonia for the final mile delivery, depending on the service option the seller used.
If there was a delivered message with the not received package's tracking, and you filed an Item Not Received dispute through ebay, their system would find in favor of the seller. As all its automated system can do is check tracking, not the label's shipping address.
You do have 30 days from having your dispute closed to Appeal the decision, but what you need from the final mile shipper is written proof that the package was not addressed to you. You can try getting information about the Yunexpress package by going to the Parcels App or Ship24 sites and enter your Yunexpress tracking number, then you can find out which company Yunexpress handed off the package to and try to get the address information from them.
The seller's account did not just disappear, it may not show up if you registered to use ebay from one of the European based sites. If you cannot find them on your home site, they were kicked off the site by ebay for using fake tracking or violating other policies. That is something to mention in your appeal.
If this is the supposed Greek seller you bought from. you can try filing a dispute for Item Not As described, if the listing shows the item location was in Greece but was shipped from China. You can do that if an item not received dispute was turned down.
The seller would have 3 days to respond by providing you with a return shipping label, asking you to get the return shipping cost so they could send you the funds to ship it back, or just to issue a full refund if they do not want the item back. If they do not reply doing one of the 3 things, on Day 4 open the dispute and click on the Ask ebay to step in button, they will issue a full refund.
