Laser TV - Item Not Received
Been a loyal eBay Buyer for 8 years and this last purchase for a Laser TV has been the worst experience I have ever had with any Website. I have found from this Purchase that eBay does not protect the Buyer and does not read the information. I purchased the item Nov. 19th and the tracking info said I received the item on the 23rd. How do you receive an item from Hong Kong in 4 days, customs alone takes 4 days to process. I had to speak with the United States Postal Service, which sent me a snippet of the address of the package and the weight. Wrong address, wrong name and package weighs less that an lipstick. A laser tv weighs 20 to 25 lbs. I sent this info to eBay and no one looked at the information. Even the Seller said they used the wrong tracking number and that the package would arrive in 15 to 25 days, another lie from the Seller. I use the new tracking number and a package arrives in New Jersey, I live on the West Coast. Again eBay did not look at the information. I have had to go through the garbage AI system they use at least 11 times and it keeps sending me info that the package arrived. This has been ongoing for almost one month. Multiple service reps and 4 supervisors and nothing was done to protect me the Buyer. Finally I had to contact my credit card company since no one at eBay would do a anything. I have spoke with a supervisor and multiple service reps that told me if you would have contacted us earlier then we could have done something. How insulting is that. I told eBay you forced my hand to protect myself since no one at eBay would do anything. ebay would rather look the other way with a Seller that has been on the site for less than three months than a Buyer with a perfect 100% rating for 8 years. Customer service stinks, the AI on eBay stinks and I would never suggest to anyone to use eBay. To add insult to injury the Seller has been banned from eBay and no longer a registered user yet it still shows up on my purchases that I received the laser tv. Even my credit card company is wondering what is wrong with eBay

The information I gave was absolutely correct, and not even made in response to a post of yours (I actually don't see that you've posted in this thread). But eBay policy is quite clear: if you open a case anywhere else you can't open a case with eBay, and any case you have open with eBay will be closed. That doesn't mean you can't succeed with a case opened elsewhere. You say you won your dispute with Paypal, not eBay. So how does that contraindicate anything I've said?

·1 year agoEbay's survival as a marketplace for many types of item is dependent on finding a solution to the fake address problem.
Ebay will continue to have sellers who use this method of defrauding buyers because there are buyers who do not do anything to avoid being cheated.

@lakefor94 has listed your contribution to this problem. Any online marketplace is going to be a problem if you do not shop more carefully and protect yourself.

·1 year agojust happed to us ordered a bug zapper seller did not send tracking so i ask for tracking after 11 days, item
was to ship ups 2nd day air, seller says sorry 1st one was lost will send another, then sends us usps tracking at 1.2 oz shows delivered to our city & state & zip code but not our address $105.00 bug zappers dont weight 1.2 oz lots of scammers doing this on ebay.

Mistake #1-Buying a TV from an overseas seller.
Mistake #2-Not being aware of the Ebay Money Back Guarantee and knowing how to use it.
Mistake #3-Even bothering with AI.
That being said, at least you can still file with your Credit Card. Before you give up on Ebay maybe read the policies that protect buyers. I've found that almost always, contacting anyone is unnecessary. That is if one is aware of the protections in place fpr buyers.

Buying from a new seller?
Buying a TV shipping from a overseas seller?
What could go wrong?
Glad you paid with a CC and are allowing them to sort it out. If there is a next time, vet the seller before the purchase.
