Lack of Help from Customer Service
Summary: ambru_andre expressed frustration about an unresolved eBay transaction for a USA Hockey Jersey purchased in February. The seller attempted to cancel, claiming the item went missing, but after insisting on fulfillment, ambru_andre received an email in August stating the item shipped, albeit without tracking. After not receiving the package and encountering unhelpful eBay customer service, ambru_andre was advised by others, including tobaccocardyahoo, bonanza125, and kathiec, that they might have missed the claim deadlines and should have accepted the original cancellation. stephenmorgan suggested contacting the financial institution for potential assistance using the shipping email as evidence.
I bought an item from a seller back in February. It was a buy it now for a USA Hockey Jersey. A few days later, he tried to cancel. Honestly I think he sold it in his own shop and tried to back out. I forced the issue and said no, I want what I ordered.
Fast forward to 8/3/2026. I get an email from eBay saying my order from February finally shipped. Great, just in time for hockey season. Problem, sent USPS Advantage without a tracking number. 8/17/26, I send the seller a message asking where’s my package? He’s in Erie, I’m in Detroit. It should take no more than a week to 10 days to get. No response.
Call eBay on 8/21/26 for help. Get the run around. First, I didn’t contact the seller. Read for the agent my note word for word with date, time and who I sent it to straight from the app. Oh, I don’t see that, like I’m lying. Then he goes well it’s past the expected date of delivery in March so you’re out of luck. I’m like no, I never got an expected delivery date, just a promise from the seller that I would get my product, which I still didn’t get.
Asked to talk with management. Oh sorry, they are out until Monday. So you are telling me you are working a shift without a supervisor? Why are you lying to me. I@ve never had a run around like this.

It's been 6 months since your purchase! Ebay is unable to do anything for you at this late date.
When you made the purchase, you were given an estimated delivery date and if that date passed without getting the item, you should have gone back to the order and filed for non-receipt.
You MUST do that within 30 days of the EDD.

·2 weeks agoYou can always call your Financial Institution and see if they will help. Provide a copy of the email from eBay saying the has order shipped. Explain how you have been waiting all this time for delivery and eBay told you your order shipped on 08/03/2026

If it seems that your getting the runaround is likely because you're about six months too late for eBay to do anything for you. You can't force a seller to ship something to you. All you can do is open an item not received case within 30 days of the listing's last estimated delivery date. You're about five months too late for that. And since most credit cards only allow disputes for about six months, you may have also blown past that.
Long story short, the issue here isn't eBay's customer service. It's you digging in your heels and exceeding eBay's deadlines to be able to help.

OP2 weeks agoI wouldn’t be upset if all the CS person said was let us contact the seller and follow up since he hasn’t gotten back with you. It was only after the lack of help did I get upset and want my money back.

·2 weeks agoIn these situations let the seller cancel the order and get your refund. Demanding to receive the item and refusing no for an answer will result in exactly what happened. Now you are out not only the refund but the item as well as the right to file a case with Ebay and payment source. Ebay will do nothing to help you now. The seller doesn't have to do anything now because you waited past your 30 day moneyback guarantee date.
I understand your expectations is to receive the item you paid for. I get it totally however some sellers don't follow through with what they are suppose to do and the best outcome at that point is to get your money back. Next time just accept the cancellation.

·2 weeks ago · EditedEbay will not do anything about a transaction back in February.
The Ebay money back guarantee required you make a Item Not Received claim months ago.
You had no right to insist on delivery when the seller wanted to cancel. It wasn't and isn't fair. The seller might be punished by Ebay for cancelling, but he had the right to cancel.
Your insistence made it possible for the seller to escape the Ebay MBG and probably escape a payment dispute with your credit card issuer.
He will probably keep your money and get off scott-free because you failed to follow the procedures that were set up to protect you.
You got nowhere with Ebay because you shot yourself in the foot.
If this sounds cruel, I apologize but you need to learn not to repeat the same error.
